Ryan Reynolds<\/strong><\/a> and Rob McElhenney<\/strong><\/a> are good sports about losing money from Wrexham Football Club \u2014 at least they\u2019re trying to be.<\/p>\n

\u201cLet\u2019s talk about how much money we\u2019re losing,\u201d McElhenney, 46, joked during an episode of Welcome to Wrexham<\/em><\/a>, which premiered on Tuesday, October 31. Reynolds, 47, reiterated his cochairman\u2019s sentiment.<\/p>\n

Humphrey Ker, the executive director of Wrexham AFC, initially didn\u2019t share a number, telling the duo it was \u201cloads\u201d of money.<\/p>\n

\u201cQuantify loads for us,\u201d Reynolds responded. Shaun Harvey<\/strong>, Wrexham Advisor to the Board,<\/a> estimated it was over \u00a310 million (which converts to more than $12 million).<\/p>\n

Whenever World Cup season begins, fans become glued to their TVs to see which country will win the coveted title \u2014 while many stars get inspired to lace up their cleats and join in on the fun at home. Everyone from Justin Bieber and Kendra Wilkinson to Niall Horan and Will Ferrell have [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cI\u2019m gonna go throw up,\u201d Reynolds quipped upon hearing the actual figure.<\/p>\n

Harvey explained that if the duo were to sell Wrexham AFC at this moment in time they would get \u201cfar more\u201d than \u00a310 million.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think that\u2019s the actual realistic metric,\u201d he explained. McElhenney replied, \u201cLet\u2019s just say we\u2019re in it for the rest of our lives<\/a>. At what point do I get paid?\u201d<\/p>\n

Harvey went on to say that Wrexham\u2019s promotion to a higher league would allow them to make money. (Spoiler alert \u2014 Wrexham AFC was promoted to the English Football League<\/a> in April for the first time in 15 years.)<\/p>\n

\u201cThe value that\u2019s coming from the global appeal we\u2019ve been able to create is going to offset those additional costs that we\u2019ve created,\u201d Harvey continued. \u201cThe biggest thing that\u2019s going to change on promotion \u2026 people can see the value of Welcome to Wrexham<\/em>. They can see the value of the profile that\u2019s being built. That\u2019s when the additional sponsorship revenue<\/a> can be generated.\u201d<\/p>\n

Elsewhere in the episode, fans watched as Wrexham went up against their biggest rival, Notts County.<\/p>\n

After a game full of \u201cedge-of-your-seat s\u2014t\u201d \u2014 per Reynolds \u2014 Wrexham beat Notts County 3 to 2.<\/p>\n

\u201cBig man just earned his wage,\u201d McElhenney told the camera after goaltender Ben Foster<\/strong><\/a> saved the team\u2019s win by blocking a penalty kick<\/a>. Reynolds added, \u201cWe\u2019re the best in the league.\u201d<\/p>\n

They also both agreed to \u201ckiss Ben Foster on the mouth.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Wrexham cochairmen also noted that watching the win was the \u201cgreatest moment\u201d of their entire lives. (\u201cAside from my family<\/a>, which I\u2019m required to say,\u201d Reynolds joked.)<\/p>\n

Reynolds and McElhenney were also awarded the Freedom of the Borough Award from the Wrexham council<\/a>. The It\u2019s Always Sunny in Philadelphia star noted that this was an \u201cincredible honor\u201d when accepting the award.<\/p>\n
