Despite ups and downs with his fellow\u00a0Summer House<\/a>\u00a0<\/i>costar Kyle Cooke<\/strong><\/a>, Carl Radke<\/strong><\/a> is hopeful that they can stay friends<\/a> as season 7 starts to air.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s hard to watch back when Kyle has such strong opinions about whether I\u2019m checked out [of our Loverboy<\/a> business] or [if] my relationship [with fianc\u00e9e Lindsay Hubbard<\/strong><\/a>] changed me \u2018cause I don\u2019t think that that\u2019s necessarily the case,\u201d Carl, 38, exclusively told\u00a0Us Weekly\u00a0<\/i>on Wednesday, February 8, while promoting the new season of\u00a0Summer House<\/i><\/a>. \u201cI mean, I\u2019ve spent the last three and a half years giving my all to Kyle and the business. I\u2019m very proud of everything I\u2019ve done, and we\u2019ve worked really, really hard \u2014 and that\u2019s what Kyle demands.\u201d<\/p>\n In addition to being housemates on\u00a0Summer House<\/i>, Carl and Kyle, 40, also work together at Loverboy, which the\u00a0Traitors<\/a>\u00a0<\/i>personality owns alongside wife Amanda Batula<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cI get that there [are] ways to be concerned about me and there\u2019s ways to like handle it,\u201d Carl told\u00a0Us\u00a0<\/i>on Wednesday during a joint interview with Lindsay<\/a>, 36. \u201cGoing into the summer, I had my own feelings about where I was at with the business and my career trajectory. And at the end of the day, [thinking] \u2018Is this the best thing for me?\u2019 You know, I haven\u2019t had a drink in, at that point, a year and a half,<\/a> and working at an alcohol brand, it didn\u2019t feel like it aligned authentically for me.\u201d<\/p>\n He added: \u201cSo there was a lot of confusion about where I should go moving forward<\/a> and also [Lindsay and I\u2019s] relationship. \u2026 I have a loving partner who wants the best for me and she was very supportive and she was urging me to talk to Kyle about some of my frustrations. And I did.\u201d<\/p>\n Carl \u2014 who proposed to the Hubb House founder in August 2022<\/a> while filming the Bravo hit \u2014 teased to\u00a0Us<\/i>\u00a0that the two Loverboy businessmen discuss their issues on\u00a0Summer House\u00a0<\/i>season 7, which premieres later this month.<\/p>\n \u201cUltimately, Kyle and I are friends. I want the best for him. I want his success and I want his happiness,\u201d Carl, who is Loverboy\u2019s vice president of sales, said on Wednesday. \u201cBut I also had to really look myself in the mirror and kind of decide what\u2019s best for me and what\u2019s best for my career, but most importantly [what I want]\u00a0is I want to get back to that friendship with Kyle<\/a> because the business [has] overshadowed that. [Our relationship has] taken a huge backseat and that\u2019s on both sides. It\u2019s not just one or the other.\u201d<\/p>\n Carl further revealed that it\u2019s been \u201cfrustrating\u201d to see cracks in their friendship since he\u2019s always been \u201cvery supportive\u201d<\/a> of the Maryland native.\u00a0\u201cI\u2019ve always been \u2018Team Kyle,\u2019 so to hear otherwise, sometimes it\u2019s hard. But I wanna move forward and not necessarily focus too much on the past,\u201d he told\u00a0Us<\/i>. \u201cI 100 percent think I can get back to that place with Kyle.\u201d<\/p>\n The Bravo star continued: \u201cKyle turned 40 this past summer<\/a> [and] I just turned 38 two weeks ago and we\u2019re both growing up and I\u2019m engaged, he\u2019s married<\/a> and naturally there\u2019s gonna be some evolution with the friendship. \u2026 I wanna find a healthy place for us as friends. I think we\u2019ll find that, but working with your friend \u2014 this is a warning and a disclaimer \u2014 is really, really hard.\u201d<\/p>\n Carl and Kyle \u2014 who launched Loverboy in 2018 \u2014 sat down for dinner \u201cthe other night,\u201d the Pittsburgh native recalled.<\/p>\n \u201cI love the guy, like, he\u2019s got that charm and he\u2019s got just an energy that people wanna be around him,\u201d Carl gushed. \u201cAnd I love being around Kyle. I care about him and I love him but it\u2019s been hard. I\u2019m not gonna lie. So we\u2019re gonna navigate it the best we can, and I\u2019m gonna lean on Lindsay more than ever this season just for love and support.\u201d<\/p>\n Summer House\u00a0<\/i>premieres on Bravo on Monday, February 13, at 9:00 p.m. ET.<\/p>\n
