Justin Timberlake<\/strong><\/a> did not \u201cflee\u201d to Mexico following the release of Britney Spears<\/strong><\/a>\u2019 bombshell book, The Woman in Me<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt had nothing to do with Britney\u2019s memoir,\u201d a source exclusively tells Us Weekly<\/em> about the trip. \u201cHe and his family already had this vacation planned months ago.\u201d<\/p>\n

Timberlake, 42, arrived in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, alongside his family \u2014 including wife Jessica Biel<\/strong><\/a> \u2014 according to photos published by the Daily Mail<\/em><\/a> on Monday, October 30.<\/p>\n

The insider tells Us<\/em> that while Timberlake is \u201csupportive of Britney\u2019s decision to put her truth out there,\u201d he is currently \u201cfocused on his family and living in the present.\u201d<\/p>\n

Spears\u2019 memoir, which was released earlier this month, featured various claims about her relationship with Timberlake.<\/p>\n

The singers dated from 1999 to 2002 after meeting on the set of The Mickey Mouse Club<\/em><\/a>. However, Timberlake apparently broke up with Spears via text message<\/a>, per her book.<\/p>\n

She wrote about feeling \u201cclinically in shock\u201d and \u201cdevastated\u201d over their split. \u201cI was comatose in Louisiana, and he was happily running around Hollywood,\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n

Spears also revealed that she had an abortion<\/a> before they split.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut Justin definitely wasn\u2019t happy about the pregnancy. He said we weren\u2019t ready to have a baby in our lives, that we were way too young,\u201d she wrote. \u201cI\u2019m sure people will hate me for this, but I agreed not to have the baby. I don\u2019t know if that was the right decision. If it had been left up to me alone, I never would have done it. And yet Justin was so sure that he didn\u2019t want to be a father.\u201d<\/p>\n

After terminating the pregnancy, Timberlake attempted to comfort Spears by playing music<\/a> as she was \u201ccrying and sobbing\u201d on the bathroom floor.<\/p>\n

Timberlake, for his part, was unaware that he\u2019d be featured so prominently in The Woman in Me<\/em>.<\/p>\n

A second insider noted that Timberlake \u201cregrets\u201d how he \u201churt\u201d Spears<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was young,\u201d the source continued. \u201cHe thinks Britney has every right to tell her story and hopes they can move on now.\u201d<\/p>\n
