A housekeeper came across Perry\u2019s body on October 28 and called 911\u2026 but it was too late to save Perry.<\/p>\n
The apparent drowning incident, according to the law enforcement insiders, was \u201ctreated as a water rescue,\u201d E! News now reports.<\/p>\n
After news of his death emerged, actress Maggie Wheeler \u2014 who played Perry\u2019s onscreen love interest Janice on Friends \u2014 reflected on their time together.<\/p>\n
\u201cMathew Perry. The joy you brought to so many in your too short lifetime will live on,\u201d she wrote on Instagram. \u201cI feel so very blessed by every creative moment we shared.\u201d<\/p>\nMatthew Perry will forever be in our hearts. \u201cWe are shocked and deeply, deeply saddened by our beloved friend Perry\u2019s passing,\u201d they said in a joint statement on October 29, adding at the time:<\/p>\n
\u201cIt still seems impossible. All we can say is that we feel blessed to have had him as part of our lives.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe was a brilliant talent. It\u2019s a clich\u00e9 to say that an actor makes a role their own, but in Perry\u2019s case, there are no truer words.<\/p>\n
\u201cFrom the day we first heard him embody the role of Chandler Bing, there was no one else for us. We will always cherish the joy, the light, the blinding intelligence he brought to every moment\u2014not just to his work, but in life as well. <\/p>\n

In Perry\u2019s 2004 book Friends \u2026 \u2018Til the End, he recalled: <\/p>\n
\u201cI was 24 when I got on the show. I\u2019ll be 34 when it\u2019s over, and those are really important years in somebody\u2019s life\u2026<\/p>\n
\u201cSo to do it all in public \u2026 was difficult. At first you have the wave of \u2018I\u2019m famous, and this is exactly what I\u2019ve wanted my whole life.\u2019 <\/p>\n

Throughout the actor\u2019s personal struggles, his Friends castmates were by his side. <\/p>\n
They were \u201cpatient\u201d and \u201cunderstanding,\u201d Matthew wrote about his costars in his memoir, adding back then:<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s like penguins. Penguins, in nature, when one is sick, or when one is very injured, the other penguins surround it and prop it up. They walk around it until that penguin can walk on its own. <\/p>\n
\u201cThat\u2019s kind of what the cast did for me.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
