Kody Brown<\/strong><\/a> admitted on the latest Sister Wives<\/em><\/a> episode that he had no clue why daughter Maddie Brown<\/strong><\/a> doesn\u2019t talk to him \u2014 but her mom, Janelle Brown<\/a><\/strong>, had an answer.<\/p>\n

\u201cI do not know what happened. But during the breakup with Christine [Brown]<\/strong><\/a>, Maddie stopped reaching out to me,\u201d Kody, 54, said during the Sunday, October 29, episode of the TLC series. \u201cMight have been COVID or I have no idea what was going on, but she quit reaching out to me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Janelle, also 54, denied that their daughter Maddie\u2019s actions had anything to do with Kody\u2019s third wife, Christine, 51, leaving in November 2021<\/a>. It did, however, have everything to do with Kody.<\/p>\n

\u201cMaddie doesn\u2019t call him because of his behavior, lately,\u201d Janelle alleged in a confessional, which was taped in spring 2022. \u201cShe\u2019s like, \u2018I don\u2019t what to do with him. I don\u2019t know who this guy is.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Janelle \u2014 who shares Maddie, 27, as well as Logan<\/strong>, 29, Hunter<\/strong>, 26, Garrison<\/strong>, 25, Gabriel<\/strong>, 22, and Savanah<\/strong>, 18<\/a>, with the patriarch \u2014 explained that Maddie\u2019s kids also play a role in her sudden avoidance of Kody. (Maddie shares son Axel, 6, and daughters Evangalynn, 4, and Josephine, 8 months, with husband Caleb Brush<\/strong><\/a>.)<\/p>\n

\u201cShe has to consider her children. She has to consider the stability of what they see or perceive as a grandfather,\u201d Janelle claimed. \u201cThere\u2019s a lot of things at play here. It\u2019s not just Maddie not calling him.\u201d<\/p>\n

Maddie isn\u2019t the only one of Kody\u2019s children<\/a> who began distancing themselves once the family began to fall apart. Kody revealed in the episode that his and Christine\u2019s daughter Ysabel<\/strong><\/a> also seemed off after their split.<\/p>\n

Janelle and Kody were spiritually married in 1993, three years after he legally wed Meri Brown. \u201cBefore Kody and I were really courting, I was actually friends with his family,\u201d Janelle said during a 2013 episode of [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cYsabel seems to be uncomfortable a lot of the times,\u201d Kody told the cameras, noting that his and Christine\u2019s youngest daughter, Truely<\/strong><\/a>, \u201cseems perfectly fine.\u201d (Christine moved to Utah after her split from Kody in fall 2021 \u2014 and has since married David Woolley<\/strong><\/a>.)<\/p>\n

\u201cMy relationship with my dad, it\u2019s never been like 100 percent solid. With the divorce, right now, everything\u2019s rocky,\u201d Ysabel, 20, who lives with half-sibling Maddie in North Carolina, said in a confessional. \u201cNobody knows what to do in a divorce. Then in a divorce with a polygamist family even more so, nobody knows what to do.\u201d<\/p>\n

Elsewhere in the episode, Kody confessed that one of his biggest fears about Christine leaving was pegged to how it would affect his bond with his kids. Christine and Kody share son Paedon<\/strong>, 25, and daughters Asypyn<\/strong>, 28, Mykelti<\/strong>, 27, Gwendlyn<\/strong>, 22, Ysabel and Truely, 13<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s one thing that I\u2019m constantly concerned about, which is sort of this gloomy cloud hanging over us most of the time. Because after the divorce and stuff like that, there seems to be a little bit of a \u2026 it\u2019s a nuance, it\u2019s a little undertone of sort of a strain,\u201d Kody explained. \u201cLike do I trust? Can I trust? From my kids<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n
