Not since Taylor Swift’s very own Midnights<\/i> (2022) has an album surpassed 1 million copies sold in the first week, and before that it was reputation<\/i> (2017). But Swift is about to do it again and 1989 (Taylor’s Version)<\/i> is expected to do over 1 million copies in the first week. She’s even expected to outdo the first week numbers of 1989<\/i> (2014).<\/p>\n

HDD writes, “After one day of sales and streams, we can project a first week total of 1.45-1.55m. This includes more than 400m projected streams for an SEA of 300-350k.”<\/p>\n

For comparison, the original 1989<\/i> did 1.287 million copies in the first week back in 2014.<\/p>\n
