Grayson Arroyo-Smiley<\/strong>, the son of Real Housewives of Orange County <\/em><\/a>alum Slade Smiley<\/strong><\/a>, died on Sunday, February 5. He was 22.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Grayson\u2019s mother, Michelle Arroyo<\/strong>, confirmed the news of her son\u2019s passing via social media<\/a> on Tuesday, February 7. A cause of death has not been revealed, but according<\/a>\u00a0to Arroyo\u2019s support website, Grayson was first diagnosed with brain cancer in 2006 \u2014 just three days after his sixth birthday.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m heart broken to share that my sweet Gray passed away Sunday night. It was very unexpected as last week he had CSF drawn from his shunts and they adjusted the valve setting of his shunt and he was doing much better,\u201d she wrote\u00a0<\/span>via Instagram alongside a photo of her son. \u201cWe were still struggling with his diarrhea and I was giving him potassium 3 times a day because it was dropping so low. His heart stopped here at home and I performed chest compressions to get it going until the paramedics arrived and took over. When he left for the hospital he looked good and was breathing on his own but his heart gave out again at the hospital.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n While Arroyo said that she doesn\u2019t \u201chave all the answers now,\u201d she shared that Grayson had been dealing with \u201cfevers, infection and low potassium\u201d for the last few months and that \u201cmost likely took a toll on my sweet boys heart.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n She continued, \u201cI\u2019m still in shock and going through the motions of dealing with all the details. I know Gray is playing cards with Gramma and playing Trouble with our beloved Diane. His dog Mo is right at his side as he never left him. #prayforgray<\/span> #amazinggray #believeinmiracles #lovemygray #captaingraythelord.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Following the heartbreaking news, Smiley\u2019s fianc\u00e9e and fellow RHOC<\/em> alum Gretchen Rossi<\/strong> <\/a>\u2014 who shares daughter Skylar, 3,<\/a> with the actor, 49 \u2014 honored Grayson with a touching tribute.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cOur rational minds told us this day might come, but our hearts always held onto the hope that this day would not come to fruition \ud83d\udc94,\u201d the Bravo personality, 44, captioned a carousel of images of Smiley and his son<\/a>. \u201cWe are beyond devastated and heartbroken over the loss of Gray. Grayson Arroyo-Smiley was such a special human being.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Rossi referred to Grayson as \u201can angel on earth\u201d and \u201can incredible warrior\u201d before detailing how the California native managed to stay positive despite struggling with his health for the majority of his life.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cHe fought every day through his pain and discomfort to find joy in the smallest of things,\u201d she shared. \u201cHe was always singing & dancing & laughing despite his circumstances.
