Batten down the hatches! Captain Lee Rosbach<\/strong><\/a> is officially exiting Below Deck<\/em><\/a> \u2014 and will be replaced by another member of the Bravo family, multiple sources exclusively tell Us Weekly<\/em>.<\/p>\n According to the insiders, Captain Kerry Titheradge<\/strong><\/a> of Below Deck Adventure<\/em><\/a> will take the place of Lee, 73, for season 11 of the nautical series, which will begin filming in Grenada later this week.<\/p>\n The news of Lee\u2019s exit comes just a few months after Captain Sandy Yawn<\/strong><\/a> stepped in to replace the Michigan native during Below Deck<\/em> season 10.<\/p>\n \u201cCapt Sandy came in an[d] bailed me out in a tough situation and I appreciate her efforts<\/a>,\u201d Lee, who has starred on Below Deck<\/em> since its debut in 2011, tweeted about his premature farewell at the time.<\/p>\n During the December 2022 episode, viewers watched as Lee said goodbye to his crew before heading back to the U.S. to deal with ongoing health issues.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m gonna go back to the [United] States, get this straightened out \u2014 and as soon as I do \u2014 I\u2019ll be on the first plane back here and tell whoever\u2019s on board to get the f\u2014k off my boat<\/a>,\u201d he quipped to his costars as he broke the news.<\/p>\n While the captain noted that he planned to return to the charter to finish out the season \u2014 and referred to his plane ticket as \u201croundtrip\u201d \u2014 he told his fellow castmembers that he wanted \u201cdo right\u201d by them<\/a> by stepping aside.<\/p>\n \u201cAs you guys know I\u2019ve been struggling with my mobility<\/a>, and it\u2019s been hard and I\u2019ve let you guys down and for that, I apologize. So I\u2019ve made a decision to leave the boat,\u201d he explained. \u201cOne of my biggest problems now is I\u2019m not able to observe. I don\u2019t know who\u2019s doing what, it\u2019s my job,\u201d he added. \u201cThey expect that out of me. There comes a point if a captain is really being objective, he should be putting the best interests of his crew first.\u201d<\/p>\n Ahead of his departure from St. David, Lee exclusively told Us<\/em> that his health issues were improving.<\/p>\n \u201cBack surgery came out great, it really did,\u201d he exclusively told Us<\/em> in December 2022. \u201cYou will find this season that I do something that I\u2019ve never, ever done before in my career or in my life<\/a>. And there\u2019s gonna be a lot of situations where you\u2019re gonna go like, \u2018Wow, didn\u2019t see that coming at all.\u2019 And not only will it be true for the viewers, [but] it was also true for myself and the crew.\u201d<\/p>\n The reasons for Lee\u2019s official exit have yet to be shared, but the seasoned vet would likely give Kerry his stamp of approval.<\/p>\n While the Australia native \u2014 who has starred on Below Deck Adventure<\/em> since it premiered in November 2022 \u2014 is a Bravo newbie<\/a>, he exclusively opened up to Us<\/em> last month about the advice Captain Lee gave him while the two paired up for a round of golf.<\/p>\n \u201c\u2018Be yourself. Be that same guy I was playing golf with,\u2019\u201d Kerry recalled Lee telling him. \u201cAnd then I asked him about social media and how to do that. I said, \u2018I heard I should get someone to do it, so I don\u2019t get caught up in it.\u2019 He goes, \u2018No, do your own social media. Don\u2019t let anyone do that.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n Kerry also revealed that he then ran into Lee once again at BravoCon in October 2022, where the former restaurateur gave him words of encouragement ahead of the Adventure<\/em> premiere.<\/p>\n \u201cThe show hadn\u2019t been out yet, but we got a chat and he\u2019s like, \u2018Man, you\u2019re gonna do great. You\u2019re gonna do really good. I can see it.\u2019 He says, \u2018You\u2019re gonna do fantastic in this franchise.\u2019 And then he chatted with my daughter. It was cool.\u201d<\/p>\n
