After nearly dying in a snow plow accident<\/a> in January, Jeremy Renner<\/strong> <\/a>is grateful to be walking again.<\/p>\n

The Avengers<\/em> star suffered 30 broken bones on New Year\u2019s Day when he was crushed<\/a> near his Nevada home while trying to stop his snow-removal tractor from hitting his nephew.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just feel very blessed and very lucky to be upright and walk around and to live life,\u201d Renner, 52, told CNN <\/a>on Monday, October 23. \u201cI\u2019m very, very clear. My life is really lean, if that makes sense. There\u2019s no fat in my life anymore. I don\u2019t have time for that. So, there\u2019s something really beautiful about having that superpower.\u201d<\/p>\n

The two-time Oscar nominee endured several months of rehabilitation<\/a>, and now that he\u2019s recovered<\/a>, he feels he\u2019s gained something from the traumatic experience.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tA scary start to the year. Jeremy Renner was hospitalized on New Year\u2019s Day after sustaining injuries while plowing snow in Nevada. The Mayor of Kingstown star, 51, was airlifted to the intensive care unit on Sunday, January 1, after \u201cblunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries\u201d while driving a snowplow. According to the Washoe County [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cThere [are] a lot of gifts that I received because of it,\u201d Renner said. \u201cWhen you\u2019re tested physically, emotionally, spiritually, in every way, and then to come through it, that\u2019s something hard to explain.\u201d<\/p>\n

His numerous injuries include eight broken ribs after being run over by his vehicle that weighed over 14,000 pounds. He underwent several surgeries, and was released from the Renown Regional Medical Center on January 17.<\/p>\n

In addition to the Avengers<\/em> franchise, the actor\u2019s prominent roles in other action films require him to have intense strength and physical dexterity. Recovering from the near-fatal accident, however, went beyond rehabbing his body.<\/p>\n

\u201cPerseverance. Strength. It\u2019s all a mental game. I put it in my back pocket now. I know how to deal with pain,\u201d Renner continued. \u201cIt\u2019s all mind. It\u2019s all in the mind. If you can sift through the fog of it all, I am very blessed.\u201d<\/p>\n
