The former \u2018Suits\u2019 actress, 42, married Prince Harry<\/a>, 39, in 2018 but two years later the couple infamously fled the UK as part of their \u2018Megxit\u2019 deal to start a new life in America, which they said was to protect their children\u2019s privacy and start a new life outside the pressures of lives as senior royals <\/p>\n

But Lady Glenconner, 91, who was one of the late Queen\u2019s maids of honour at her coronation in 1953, claims Meghan thought she would be \u201criding around in a golden coach\u201d and treated like a movie star before she decided to leave the UK.<\/p>\n

She added on the \u2018Rosebud with Gyles Brandreth\u2019 podcast: \u201cI think the thing about Meghan was, she had no idea what was expected of her really. <\/p>\n

\u201cI think she just thought it was sort of like being another actress, you know.\u201d<\/p>\n

\nLady Glenconner added the reality of being in the royal family can be \u201cextremely boring\u201d. <\/p>\n

\nShe said most of their days are spent \u201cmeeting hundreds of thousands of people that you\u2019re never going to meet again\u201d, while being forced to put on a smile. <\/p>\n

\nThe former maid of honour added: \u201cI think it was very sad and I feel very sad for Harry.\u201d <\/p>\n

\nLady Glenconner, who was also lady-in-waiting to Queen Elizabeth\u2019s sister Princess Margaret, then recalled a conversation she had with American politician John Kerry, 79, at King Charles\u2019 coronation. <\/p>\n

\nWhen the socialite asked John what people in America think about the couple, the 79-year-old allegedly agreed with her about her view on Harry leaving the royals. <\/p>\n

\nShe revealed: \u201cHe said, \u2018We all feel very, very sorry for Harry.\u2019 I think I can just leave it at that.\u201d <\/p>\n

\nMeghan and Harry, who have son Archie, four, and two-year-old daughter Lilibet, have been slammed for alleging the royal family was racist in their infamous tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey. <\/p>\n

\nHarry has also been slammed for laying bare royal secrets in his \u2018Spare\u2019 memoir.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
