Billy Porter is \u2018dating around\u2019<\/p>\n
\nThe Tony-winning actor and singer, 54, and his husband Adam Smith announced in July they were divorcing after six years of marriage, and he has now admitted he is happily trying out potential new partners.<\/p>\n
\nHe told Page Six about how his love life has recently changed: \u201cI\u2019m gonna take a break for a minute. Daddy is dating around.\u201d <\/p>\n
\nThe actor made the admission while walking the red carpet at a gala for cancer charity DKMS at Cipriani Wall Street, where he also performed. <\/p>\n
\nWhen asked if anyone at the charity event had caught his eye for a future romance, Billy joked: \u201cI see them, don\u2019t you think I know? <\/p>\n
\n\u201cBut I\u2019m not peeping nobody yet, they got to peep me. They got to take care of me, honey.\u201d <\/p>\n
\nBilly has a new album \u2018The Black Mona Lisa\u2019 out on 17 November and said of his nerves ahead of its release: \u201cI am breaking a sweat. I have broken a sweat. <\/p>\n
\nBecause it is about expanding my audience and helping my audience know that I am not new to this. I am true to this. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cMany people got on the Billy Porter train at different times, but the singing was first\u2026 type it in Google and you will understand. She ain\u2019t new with this pop music thing.\u201d <\/p>\n
\nBilly also said about how he started his career and was advised to focus on \u201cone thing\u201d: \u201cI met with a manager\u2026 and he said you have to choose one thing, you can\u2019t do everything at the same time. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cI\u2019m grateful that I did not listen to him.\u201d <\/p>\n
\nBilly added his diverse range of performing talents has helped during the SAG-AFTRA strike of Hollywood actors. <\/p>\n
\nHe said: \u201cI\u2019m so multihyphenated that I\u2019m blessed to always have something to do. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cI was working. I\u2019m one of the lucky ones. I\u2019m one of the blessed one, but I\u2019m grateful that I followed my own instinct and heart.\u201d <\/p>\n
\nHe has previously said he was forced to sell his home because of the strike, as well as the recent WGA strike. <\/p>\n
\nBilly told the Evening Standard: \u201cI have to sell my house. I don\u2019t know when we\u2019re gonna go back. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cThe life of an artist, until you make f*** you money \u2013 which I haven\u2019t made yet \u2014 is still (paycheque-to-paycheque.)\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
