Big Brother 25<\/em>\u2019s Cory Wurtenberger<\/strong><\/a> is \u201cnot worried\u201d about how he and showmance partner America Lopez<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s connection will fare in the real world.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m very optimistic about our future, and if it doesn\u2019t work out, that\u2019s OK,\u201d Cory, 22, exclusively told Us Weekly<\/em> on Friday, October 20, one day after his elimination from the CBS reality series. \u201cBut she\u2019s incredible and I can\u2019t go into our relationship [outside the game] being like, \u2018Oh no, everything\u2019s going to change.\u2019 \u2026 Like, no, she\u2019s great. I think it\u2019ll work out.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Cory acknowledged that Big Brother<\/em> <\/a>\u201cbrings people together [because] you kind of cling onto each other for support,\u201d he pointed out that post-season craziness can also be a bonding experience for showmances<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cLeaving the Big Brother<\/em> house is its own nightmare crucible [with] social media and all of this attention for at least a few months before you fade back into anonymity,\u201d he said. \u201cAnd going through that with [America] is going to be really helpful, I think, to both of us.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tIt\u2019s tough to win Big Brother without some sort of alliance \u2014 but it\u2019s even more difficult if you\u2019re one half of a showmance. However, that doesn\u2019t stop competitors, time and time again, from pairing up while in the house. \u201cThe secret no one knows about Big Brother \u2014 I think it\u2019s really a marriage [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Cory and America, 27, flirted and cuddled for weeks before they shared their first kiss last month. During the early stages of their fling, Cory was hesitant to take things to the next level.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe truth was, that [hesitation] wasn\u2019t really a strategic choice by me to be like, \u2018Oh, showmances are dangerous,\u2019\u201d Cory admitted to Us<\/em>. \u201cI\u2019m just kind of a tough nut to crack when it comes to intimacy. I\u2019m just a little bit weird in that regard, and it takes me a long time to warm up to anybody. \u2026 It came a lot easier for me with [America.]\u201d<\/p>\n

Cory and America\u2019s time in the house together came to an end on Thursday, October 19, when Cory was unanimously evicted. The pair found themselves on the block next to each other after their former ally Jag Bains<\/strong><\/a> blindsided them by naming them both as replacement nominees. (This week, there were two Power of Veto competitions rather than the standard one, giving Jag, 25, the ability to take both Blue Kim<\/strong><\/a> and Felicia Cannon<\/strong> off the block and target Cory and America instead.)<\/p>\n

Living together in a house cut off from the rest of the world often means that houseguests sniff out exactly who their fellow houseguests plan to vote for on eviction nights. However, contestants [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Although Cirie Fields<\/strong><\/a> noted in her goodbye message to Cory that he should\u2019ve known better than to \u201crub your showmance in everybody\u2019s face,\u201d Cory told Us<\/em> that he thinks it\u2019s always risky to be part of a strong duo on Big Brother<\/em>, romantic or not.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t think the me and America PDA was the problem, necessarily,\u201d he said. \u201cI think it was more [that] I had a big target on my back<\/a> and I was part of a duo. \u2026 I think there really was a path for me to make a deep run [with America] and it just didn\u2019t work out. \u201c<\/p>\n

While the Big Brother<\/em> superfan\u2019s dreams of winning the reality TV competition might be dashed, Cory is satisfied with what he got out of the experience.<\/p>\n
