\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n Britney Spears<\/strong><\/a> is opening up about her very brief marriage to Jason Alexander<\/strong><\/a>. <\/p>\n If you forgot, in 2004 the 41-year-old \u201cPrivate Show\u201d pop star married her childhood friend while they were in Las Vegas. The marriage was annulled after only 55 hours. <\/p>\n In her forthcoming memoir The Woman in Me,<\/em> Britney <\/strong>spilled some details about the nuptials, including why she got married. She also revealed something major that she learned in the aftermath. <\/p>\n Read more about Britney Spears\u2019 wedding to Jason Alexander\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n In an excerpt of the book obtained by Time<\/a>, Britney <\/strong>said that she and Jason <\/strong>were both \u201cs-itfaced\u201d when they made the decision to walk down the aisle. <\/p>\n \u201cI don\u2019t even remember that night at all, but from what I\u2019ve pieced together, he and I lounged around the hotel room and stayed up late watching movies \u2014 Mona Lisa Smile<\/em> and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre<\/em> \u2014 then had the brilliant idea of going to A Little White Chapel at three thirty in the morning,\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n She continued, adding that there have been questions about if the couple loved one another. On her side at least, it was a resounding no.<\/p>\n So why did they get married? \u201cI was just honestly very drunk \u2014 and probably, in a more general sense at that time in my life, very bored.\u201d<\/p>\n Britney <\/strong>noted that the aftermath revealed how controlling her family was. <\/p>\n \u201cThey made way too big a deal out of innocent fun,\u201d she said. \u201cEverybody has a different perspective on it, but I didn\u2019t take it that seriously. I thought a goof-around Vegas wedding was something people might do as a joke. Then my family came and acted like I\u2019d started World War III.
