Gwyneth Paltrow<\/a><\/strong> may be known globally as both an Oscar-winning actor and a lifestyle guru, but her days as a public figure may be numbered.<\/p>\n In an interview with Bustle<\/a><\/em> published Wednesday, the Shakespeare in Love<\/em> star said she eventually plans to put her wellness company Goop<\/a><\/strong> up for sale, after which she\u2019s likely to embrace a more quiet life.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019re not ready to sell yet. I need a few more years,\u201d the 51-year-old said, noting that she\u2019d \u201cbe happy\u201d with the idea of retreating from the spotlight by her 55th birthday in 2027.<\/p>\n \u201cI will literally disappear from public life,\u201d she added. \u201cNo one will ever see me again.\u201d<\/p>\n It isn\u2019t entirely clear if Paltrow meant her remarks to be taken seriously. At the time of that show\u2019s 2019 premiere, Paltrow said she\u2019d only joined the cast after being persuaded by her husband, Brad Falchuk, who co-created the series with Ryan Murphy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n About a year later, she began hinting that she\u2019d become disillusioned by fame\u2015 a process she indicated started decades ago when her Hollywood career was still on the rise.<\/p>\n \u201cPart of the shine of acting wore off, you know, being in such intense public scrutiny, being a kid who\u2019s like living every breakup on every headline, like being criticized for everything you do, say and wear,\u201d she told SiriusXM\u2019s Bruce Bozzi<\/strong> in 2020.<\/p>\n She added, \u201cI\u2019m such a homebody. I like to be with my old friends and cook and squeeze my kids. I don\u2019t want to be alone in a hotel room in Budapest for six weeks. It\u2019s just not who I am.\u201d<\/p>\n Paltrow reiterated that stance in her Bustle<\/em> interview, noting that her biggest professional pleasures involve \u201ccreating, collaborating, being struck with new ideas, innovating, thinking ahead, strategy, vision, that kind of thing.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI could never get attracted to the really rich guy,\u201d she added. \u201cAnd I don\u2019t make choices to build value in the wrong way. I\u2019ve always done independent films. I don\u2019t know. Money has never been my thing. It\u2019s never been my driver.\u201d<\/p>\n
