The 77-year-old actor says that since starring as sweary media titan Logan Roy in \u2018Succession\u2019 he has been exposed to sides of showbiz he didn\u2019t previously have to endure as much, such as being papped outside his house.<\/p>\n
He told The Guardian: \u201cI\u2019ve lost my anonymity, and I\u2019ve realised that was what was important to me.<\/p>\n
\u201cI haven\u2019t ever experienced anything like this. I mean, you ask for success in your work, and you get it, and then you have to deal with the consequences.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve always valued my privacy, but it\u2019s gone. I\u2019ve been very lucky that I\u2019ve had it for so long.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cYou know, I\u2019ve been doing this for over 60 years. And finally it\u2019s over.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nThree-times married dad-of-four Brian has also told how he could have had the same level of fame years ago if he hadn\u2019t turned down parts in \u2018Game of Thrones\u2019 and \u2018Pirates of the Caribbean\u2019.<\/p>\n
\nHe added in his memoir \u2018Putting the Rabbit in the Hat\u2019: \u201cI\u2019m often asked if I was offered a role in \u2018Game of Thrones\u2019 \u2013 reason being that every other b***** was \u2013 and the answer is, yes, I was supposed to be a king called Robert Baratheon.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nBrian said he turned down the part as the money wasn\u2019t big enough and the character got killed off early.<\/p>\n
\nHe also rejected a lucrative role in \u2018Pirates of the Caribbean\u2019 that eventually went to Jonathan Pryce \u2013 as he hated Johnny Depp\u2019s acting style.<\/p>\n
\nBrian added: \u201cIt would have been a money-spinner but, of all the parts in the film, it was the most thankless.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cAnd Depp, personable though I\u2019m sure he is, is so overblown \u2013 I mean \u2018Edward Scissorhands\u2019!<\/p>\n
\n\u201cLet\u2019s face it, if you come on with hands like that, you don\u2019t have to do anything. And he didn\u2019t.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
