Will Ferrell<\/strong><\/a> took a trip to Wales to meet Ryan Reynolds<\/strong><\/a> and Rob McElhenney<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s Wrexham football club \u2014 and made some jokes at the Deadpool<\/em> star\u2019s expense in the process.<\/p>\n

\u201cDo you guys like Ryan and Rob or not really?\u201d Ferrell, 54, asked the football players<\/a> during an episode of Welcome to Wrexham<\/em><\/a> season 2, which premiered on Tuesday, October 17. \u201cYou can be honest. Rob is good. Ryan \u2026 dodgy Canadian.\u201d<\/p>\n

While taking a tour of the stadium, Ferrell called the players \u201cfamous\u201d and also commented on one\u2019s \u201cbeefy thigh.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYou need a rub down?\u201d he asked one Wrexham player. \u201cThese hands \u2026 These are magic hands.\u201d<\/p>\n

Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson<\/strong> referred to Ferrell\u2019s appearance as \u201csurreal,\u201d noting that they just hung out and \u201chad a chat.\u201d<\/p>\n

Whenever World Cup season begins, fans become glued to their TVs to see which country will win the coveted title \u2014 while many stars get inspired to lace up their cleats and join in on the fun at home. Everyone from Justin Bieber and Kendra Wilkinson to Niall Horan and Will Ferrell have [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Throughout the rest of the episode, fans watched as Wrexham competed in nine matches during a month-long period as part of their quest to be promoted up a level to the English Football League. At the end of the episode, it\u2019s revealed that they secured a victory in seven of the nine matches.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter surviving nine matches in 28 days, Wrexham holds a four-point lead over rivals Notts County with just 10 matches to play,\u201d text running across the screen read. \u201cThe next six weeks will determine whether their promotion dream becomes a reality or if 15 years of National League pain continues.\u201d<\/p>\n

Spoiler alert \u2014 this past April, Wrexham was promoted to the English Football League<\/a> for the first time in 15 years.<\/p>\n

\u201cRob and I kinda blacked out during this moment, but somehow we\u2019ll never forget it,\u201d Reynolds, 46, captioned an Instagram post at the time.<\/p>\n

Their eventual promotion came with the help of 40-year-old goalkeeper Ben Foster<\/strong>, who came out of retirement in the second Welcome to Wrexham episode released on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Aidan Davis<\/strong>, Wrexham goalkeeping coach, likened Foster\u2019s addition to the team as if Reynolds and McElhenney, 46, were \u201csigning the Tom Brady<\/strong><\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cEvery once in a while, over the course of a season, or a career, there are those people out there that get that extra little bit of magic,\u201d McElhenney shared in his confessional. Reynolds added, \u201cBen Foster, he is that player.\u201d<\/p>\n

When Wrexham signed Foster, Reynolds and McElhenney faced public criticisms<\/a> from football fans who claimed it was all about the money. However, Foster made it clear that he just wanted to help Wrexham get promoted to the next league<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Ahead of his first game, Foster admitted that he was \u201cnervous\u201d with the number of eyes on him. However, Wrexham beat York City 3 to 0.<\/p>\n
