Meet your heroes! Adele<\/strong><\/a> was all smiles when Grammys<\/a> host Trevor Noah<\/strong><\/a> introduced her to Dwayne \u201cThe Rock\u201d Johnson<\/strong><\/a> during the Sunday, February 5, awards show.<\/p>\n \u201cThe person that Adele has always wanted to meet but never has is Dwayne Johnson,\u201d Noah, 38, explained during the broadcast as he walked around the A-listers\u2019 tables<\/a>. The Daily Show<\/em> <\/a>personality then teased Adele, 34, quipping: \u201cI don\u2019t have Dwayne Johnson here tonight, but I do have someone called \u2018The Rock.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n After his grand introduction, Johnson, 50, walked over to the \u201cSomeone Like You\u201d singer\u2019s table. Adele broke into a grin and stood up to embrace the Ballers<\/em> alum.<\/p>\n \u201cAdele, meet The Rock, The Rock, meet Adele. First time ever,\u201d Noah said as the crowd applauded.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Adele received seven Grammy nominations this year<\/a>, including Record of the Year, Best Pop Solo Performance and Song of the Year for \u201cEasy on Me\u201d and Album of the Year for 30<\/em>. The England native already has 15 of the prestigious awards to her name; she took home her first trophies in 2009 for Best New Artist<\/a> and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance (\u201cChasing Pavements\u201d).<\/p>\n Despite garnering critical acclaim for her most recent album<\/a>, recording 30<\/em> \u2014 which was released in November 2021 \u2014 wasn\u2019t an easy process for the \u201cLove In the Dark\u201d songstress.<\/p>\n \u201cIt really helped me, this album. It really, really did,\u201d Adele told Apple Music<\/a> at the time of the release<\/p>\n She continued, elaborating on the mental state that prompted her to write the record:<\/a> \u201cI realized, I actually didn\u2019t like who I was. And I think I just really got, like most other human beings \u2014 especially of my age \u2014 really just got into that thing of just going through the motions. \u2026 And wasn\u2019t opening my eyes, and seeing what was actually happening at the time, and enjoying the world around me and stuff like that.\u201d<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n The Oscar winner endured her fair share of hardship in 2021, finalizing her divorce<\/a> from Simon Konecki<\/strong> <\/a>in March after announcing the split nearly two years earlier.<\/p>\n \u201cI was just going through the motions<\/a> and I wasn\u2019t happy. Neither of us did anything wrong. Neither of us hurt each other or anything like that,\u201d Adele told Vogue<\/em><\/a> of the breakup in October 2021. \u201cIt was just: I want my son to see me really love and be loved. It\u2019s really important to me.\u201d<\/p>\n The \u201cRolling in the Deep\u201d musician shares son Angelo<\/a>, 10, with Konecki, 48. She penned the 30<\/em> track \u201cMy Little Love\u201d<\/a> for her only child.<\/p>\n \u201cI wrote it to shine a light [that] I didn\u2019t always have it together,\u201d Adele told Harper\u2019s Bazaar<\/em> <\/a>in November 2021. \u201cIt is very personal, and he probably will go through stages of hating it when he\u2019s a teenager, but it was an important part of the puzzle I was trying to figure out of my life \u2014 not the album \u2014 so I had to include it.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
