Captain Sandy<\/strong><\/a> is now aware of Tumi Mhlongo<\/strong> and Natalya Scudder<\/strong>\u2018s ongoing drama \u2014 but that doesn\u2019t mean she\u2019s going to fix the problem for them.<\/a><\/p>\n

During a new episode of Below Deck Mediterranean<\/em><\/a>, which aired on Monday, October 16, Tumi and Natalya\u2019s issues continued to escalate. Before Sandy was alerted to the problem, Natalya told Kyle Viljoen<\/strong> about her latest outburst<\/a> toward Tumi.<\/p>\n

\u201cI love [some] good gossip. But I am realizing that my involvement has made the situation worse. I shared with Tumi how my time went with Natalya [during season 7]. And Tumi\u2019s response was, \u2018I know you\u2019re mates with her, but she needs to stay in her lane. Tumi losing her s\u2014t will end in her walking off because she had a diva moment,’\u201d Kyle, who told Natalya that Tumi claimed she would fire her<\/a>, explained. \u201cI am really good at getting information. My biggest problem? I am not good at keeping the information. It\u2019s not good. Trust me, I know.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sandy, meanwhile, realized Tumi and Natalya were at odds during her own conversation with the chief stew.<\/a><\/p>\n

The show\u2019s spinoff series Below Deck Mediterranean shocked viewers when Hannah Ferrier and Captain Sandy Yawn\u2018s inability to see eye to eye turned into the most memorable firing to date. \u201cIt\u2019s nothing you need to worry about,\u201d Tumi said about her problems managing Natalya. \u201cI am a bit worried because [with] Natalya, it is just constant resistance. I feel like I came [onboard] and she was like, \u2018I don\u2019t like her. I don\u2019t want you here.\u2019 Honestly Sandy, that\u2019s how it felt.\u201d<\/p>\n

The captain chose not to directly confront the conflict<\/a> for her employees. \u201cI\u2019m going to let you handle it. And if you need me, you will call me. But I am going to ask you \u2026 I know it is hard for someone to adjust. I agree. If your approach is one of kindness, you will win. Instead of one of authority,\u201d Sandy told Tumi. \u201cIf it doesn\u2019t change then come to me and I will talk to her.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sandy went on to offer Tumi some insight on how Natalya<\/a> may be feeling.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs the second stew, everyone loves you, but when you become the chief, that is when the love isn\u2019t there,\u201d she noted. \u201cTo lead, you are not always going to be popular. How many people like their boss? There\u2019s growing pains of figuring out how to work together. They just have to get through this initial uncomfortability. If it becomes a bigger issue, then I will step in.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tAs soon as you step foot on a Below Deck Mediterranean charter yacht, you\u2019re guaranteed one thing: a whole lot of drama. Throughout its five seasons, crew members like Captain Sandy Yawn, Hannah Ferrier, Malia White and more have been know to butt heads with each other \u2014 all with the purpose of delivering a [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The tension between the stews kicked into high gear as soon as Tumi joined the boat during season 8<\/a>. She didn\u2019t come on board until the second charter \u2014 which initially made Natalya the chief stew. However, Natalya\u2019s attempts to hand off the role to Tumi created an immediate rift between the coworkers<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Sandy was subsequently forced to step in during Monday\u2019s episode when Tumi and Natalya started yelling at each other.<\/p>\n

\u201cFirst and foremost, thank you for everything you did. [But] I can\u2019t tolerate this,\u201d she explained to Natalya, who clarified, \u201cI gave a very nice handover and she straight away started nitpicking and texting Kyle behind my back.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tumi tried to offer her side of the story, which started with her mocking Natalya\u2019s<\/a> comments. Sandy, for her part, was not amused by the situation.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat is not OK. You do not make fun of people while I am in the room,\u201d Sandy said. \u201cYou\u2019re in a leadership role and you need to rise above and figure this out because right now I am ready to put you both off the boat.\u201d<\/p>\n

Over the years, stars including Hannah Ferrier, Peter Hunziker and Shane Coopersmith have been fired from their respective charters for a variety of reasons. Below Deck Mediterranean\u2019s Hannah [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Sandy broke down her management approach<\/a> to the cameras, adding, \u201cYou have to respect each other in the workplace. You can\u2019t do this. This is behavior that can\u2019t happen. In this situation I need to defuse it but then you need to step away and let the leader handle it. Because if I draw the line for them, they are never going to respect each other. Having said that, if I hear Natalya screaming at Tumi again and Tumi can\u2019t defuse it, then I need to step in and make a decision.\u201d<\/p>\n

Later in the episode, Tumi admitted that her \u201cunprofessional\u201d text contributed to the tension<\/a> because of how it got \u201ctwisted\u201d her words by the time it got back to Natalya.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve never met someone that lies like this. She said that I said to you that I\u2019m not afraid to fire her? That\u2019s not what it said. What did you tell her about the text?\u201d the Below Deck Down Under<\/em> alum asked<\/a> Kyle. \u201cI never said that I have no problem firing her. That\u2019s not my job. Am I the Captain? How can I fire you? And I don\u2019t know if it is her or Kyle. I don\u2019t know where this is coming from. And it\u2019s frustrating.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tOver the years, Bravo viewers have seen Below Deck Mediterranean cast members come and go \u2014 but not before they brought the drama to the small screen. The spinoff series, which premiered in 2016, seemingly found a permanent crew member in chief stew Hannah Ferrier. The Australia native appeared in five seasons of the hit [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Sandy ultimately met with Tumi and Natalya individually to offer them advice<\/a>. She reminded Tumi to \u201ckeep trying\u201d when it came to leading the interior team. Meanwhile, Sandy told Natalya that \u201ccommunication\u201d is important in the workplace.<\/p>\n

Tumi and Natalya\u2019s first conversation after their explosive fight didn\u2019t end well though<\/a>. Their talk happened as Sandy was also having trouble with her deck team when they couldn\u2019t pull off a successful docking.<\/p>\n
