The Queen of Pop, 65, was forced to cut her set short on Sunday (15.10.23) night after technical issues hit her concert at London\u2019s O2 Arena. <\/p>\n
But The Sun has reported she still overran the 10.30pm curfew by 30 minutes, which could land her with a \u00a3300,000 penalty. <\/p>\n
It said she didn\u2019t make it on stage until 9pm on Sunday after she performed a 140-minute set on Saturday night as she launched her much-anticipated \u2018Celebration\u2019 world tour, which was delayed after the singer was hit by a \u201cserious bacterial infection\u201d in the summer. <\/p>\n
But on Sunday she didn\u2019t make it on stage until 9pm, with the concert ending at 11pm amid warnings fans may miss the last Tube trains home. <\/p>\n
\nHits including \u2018Like a Virgin\u2019 and \u2018Celebration\u2019 were axed as a result, leaving concertgoers livid. <\/p>\n
\nOne of a flood of enraged ticket holders raged on social media: \u201cHow dare the b******s at the O2 cut Madonna short.\u201d <\/p>\n
\nCurfew rules from the O2\u2019s operators AEG and Transport for London include fines of \u00a310,000 a minute for shows that overrun. <\/p>\n
\nThe Sun reported Greenwich Council said its midnight curfew was not broken, with a spokesman telling the newspaper: \u201cWe do not intend to investigate.\u201d <\/p>\n
\nMadonna told fans on the first night of her tour she feared she \u201cwouldn\u2019t make it\u201d after the hospitalisation that sparked the shows being postponed. <\/p>\n
\nThe mum-of-six said at the sold-out concert while holding her guitar: \u201cI didn\u2019t think I would make it, and neither did my doctors. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cThat\u2019s why I woke up with all of my children sitting around me.\u201d <\/p>\n
\nRubbing her head as she recalled her health scare, she added: \u201cI forgot five days of my life, or my death, I don\u2019t really know where I was. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cBut the angels were protecting me. And my children were there. And my children always save me, every time. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cIf you want to know how I pulled through and how I survived, I thought, I have got to be there for my children. I have to survive for them.\u201d <\/p>\n
\nMadonna then played an acoustic version of the Gloria Gaynor track \u2018I Will Survive\u2019. <\/p>\n
\nAfter recovering from her illness at home in New York, Madonna told fans she was rescheduling her world tour in October. <\/p>\n
\nThere had been reports the singer had been exhausting herself in rehearsals for the shows, but before they were relaunched it was reported she was in top health.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
