In news that shouldn\u2019t actually surprise anyone, Marvel-famous actor Chris Evans<\/strong> announced that he married Alba Baptista<\/strong> in September, over a month after multiple outlets \u2014 citing anonymous sources \u2014 reported on the nuptials<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n The 42-year-old Massachusetts resident, who was named People\u2019s Sexiest Man Alive in 2022, reportedly met the 26-year-old Portuguese Warrior Nun<\/em> star in 2021, and the pair appeared to start dating soon after<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n Evans would occasionally share photos of the couple on his now-deactivated Instagram account.<\/a> Still, the pair were pretty private about their relationship\u2014but in early September, when his Marvel co-stars were spotted dining together in Boston<\/a>, the nuptial jig appeared to be up. The stars had assembled to attend their private Cape Cod wedding<\/a>, People reported at the time, with Evans and Baptista requiring NDAs and confiscating cell phones, a Page Six<\/a> source said.<\/p>\n The newly-married duo jetted off to Portugal, where they reportedly ran into<\/a> Prince Harry<\/strong> and Meghan Markle<\/strong>, as one does. But neither Baptista nor Evans have officially said, \u201cOh, yeah, we\u2019re married\u201d until Saturday.<\/p>\n Evans has been working hard to separate himself<\/a> from his Captain America alter ego, but it appears he still has some funny papers obligations. A so-called guest of honor at this weekend\u2019s New York Comic Con, the \u201cbiggest comic and pop culture event on the East Coast,\u201d his schedule was notably grueling<\/a>, with five scheduled photo ops, two autograph sessions, and \u201cA Spotlight on Chris Evans<\/a>,\u201d a 30-minute, one-man \u201cpanel\u201d where Evans talked about his life, aspirations, and\u2014at long last\u2014his wedding. In fact, his weddings, plural.<\/p>\n \u201cWe kinda had two ceremonies,\u201d Evans said, per ET<\/a>. \u201cWe had one on the East Coast. We did one in Portugal. My wife\u2019s Portuguese.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s a lot, planning a wedding. For those of you who are married, you know it takes a lot out of you,\u201d People quotes him<\/a> as saying. \u201cNow that we\u2019re through that, we\u2019ve just kinda been enjoying life, gearing up for autumn, my favorite season. It\u2019s, like, the best time of year right now. Now we\u2019re just relaxing and enjoying life and reflecting,\u201d Evans said.<\/p>\n But once the leaves fall and Evans loses interest in hayrides or orchards or whatever else it is people in Massachusetts do to really get into the fall spirit (corn mazes are just a Midwestern thing, right?), the Snowpiercer<\/em> star plans on turning his eye not to a snowblower\u2014but to the theater.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m looking (for a play),\u201d Deadline quotes Evans<\/a> as saying. \u201cI\u2019d love to actually try and find something next year, but it\u2019s tough because you find something that you are kind of into that could be cool but like I said, once you\u2019re in it, you are in it.\u201d<\/p>\n A play, Evans said, \u201cusually runs three, four or five months. So, it\u2019s got to be something that you don\u2019t just love, but it\u2019s got to be something that you\u2019re ready to explore from different angles every single night for a very long time.\u201d Well, Chris, that sounds an awful lot like marriage, so given the leap you just took (and the commitment you just got out of<\/a>), it might make sense to wait.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
