Sad news today out of the entertainment world:<\/p>\n
Suzanne Somers, a veteran actress best known for her roles on Three\u2019s Company and Step by Step, died on Sunday morning from breast cancer<\/p>\n

(Dia Dipasupil\/Getty Images)<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\u201cSuzanne Somers passed away peacefully at home in the early morning hours of October 15th. She survived an aggressive form of breast cancer for over 23 years,\u201d the star\u2019s publicist, R. Couri Hay, wrote in a statement shared on behalf of the actress\u2019 family.<\/p>\n

\u201cSuzanne was surrounded by her loving husband Alan, her son Bruce, and her immediate family.<\/p>\n
\u201cHer family was gathered to celebrate her 77th birthday on October 16th. \u201cSince I have been taking time off from work, many of you have asked for more details about my health,\u201d she wrote on Instagram at the time. <\/p>\n
\u201cAs you know, I had breast cancer two decades ago, and every now and then it pops up again, and I continue to bat it down. I have used the best alternative and conventional treatments to combat it. <\/p>\n

Rodriguez\/Getty Images)<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\nSomers rose to small screen fame in the 1970s thanks to her role as Chrissy on the ABC sitcom Three\u2019s Company, which also featured the late John Ritter and Joyce DeWitt. <\/p>\n
She was ultimately fired from the show after asking to be paid the same as Ritter.<\/p>\n
Somers later acted in She\u2019s the Sheriff and Step by Step, while also performing at times in Las Vegas. <\/p>\n
Ultimately, she found enormous success in her wellness empire. <\/p>\n
\u201cThat was the great thing about being fired,\u201d the author once said, referring most notably to the ThighMaster exercise equipment and adding: <\/p>\n
