W<\/em> Let\u2019s be honest<\/span>, it\u2019s been a tough week. But let\u2019s use some spare brain cycles to reflect on defense tech, AI in Canada and alternative investments. \u2014 Anna<\/i><\/a><\/p>\n Just two weeks ago, I mused on the fact that defense tech is no longer a taboo<\/a> for VCs or for top tech talent. It is too early to tell how long the Israel-Hamas war that started after last weekend\u2019s atrocities against civilians may last, but it is likely to make democracies\u2019 need for defense tech even clearer.<\/p>\n That\u2019s true in the U.S., as well as in Europe, where defense AI company Helsing<\/a> is built on the premise that \u201csoftware, in particular artificial intelligence, will be the key to protecting our democracies.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
