The 52-year-old actress recently revealed she and the \u2018Bad Boys\u2019 star, 55, decided to live separate lives seven years ago and has now revealed they decided not to put down legal terms in a pre-marital document before they wed in 1997 as they never saw divorce as an option.<\/p>\n
She told Parade in an interview to promote her new autobiography \u2018Worthy\u2019: \u201cListen, weddings are beautiful, but they can be very romanticised. I feel that was a very real moment for the two of us to look each other in the eyes, recognise that there would be tough times in this journey and to say to each other, \u2018No matter what, we\u2019re going to figure it out and that\u2019s why we don\u2019t need a prenup, because I\u2019m making a promise that divorce won\u2019t be necessary, that we will figure this out.\u2019<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd we made that promise to each other without all of the bridal wedding beauty \u2013 it was just sitting on a log in his mother\u2019s backyard, and going, \u2018Hey.\u2019 Having to really look at the possibility of us not being together.\u201d<\/p>\n
Jada now has an estimated net worth of $50 million, while Will is said to have at least $350 million.<\/p>\n
\nJada and Will secretly separated in 2016 after having children Jaden, 25, and Willow, 22, together and when they were nearly 20 years into their marriage.<\/p>\n
\nShe told of how they called in quits ahead of the release of her memoir and said she was stunned when Will slapped Chris Rock at the 2022 Oscars for joking about her shaved head as they hadn\u2019t been together for years.<\/p>\n
\nWill yelled at the 58-year-old comic: \u201cKeep my wife\u2019s name out of your f****** mouth.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nBut Jada has said he hadn\u2019t referred to her as his \u201cwife\u201d for years prior to the slap.<\/p>\n
\nShe told the \u2018Today\u2019 show: \u201cFirst of all, I\u2019m really shocked, because mind you, I\u2019m not there.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cWe haven\u2019t called each other husband and wife in a long time. I\u2019m really worried for Will because I don\u2019t know what\u2019s going on.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nDespite their seven-year estrangement, Jada added she and Will have no plans to officially divorce.<\/p>\n
\nShe added on \u2018Today\u2019: \u201cI made a promise that there will never be a reason for us to get a divorce. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cWe will work through whatever. And I just haven\u2019t been able to break that promise.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
