Keith Richards talks rocky relationship with Mick Jagger<\/p>\n
The 79-year-old rocker admitted he and his Rolling Stones bandmate still have their disagreements after over 60 years working together but insisted they will always love each other.<\/p>\n
Speaking to The Sun newspaper, Keith said: “He is unbelievable, man, one of the greatest frontmen.<\/p>\n
“People only hear about the downs. After 60 years, if you had a brother, you\u2019d have had a few ups and downs, too, and ours is usually concerned with work.<\/p>\n
“I say, \u2018That\u2019s too schlocky\u2019, and he says, \u2018I love it\u2019, and I go, \u2018You\u2019re an a******!\u2019 But the abrasiveness is minor compared to the harmony that goes on all the time.<\/p>\n
\n“Of course I love him.”<\/p>\n
\nKeith also credits Mick with providing \u201cthe main impetus\u201d to get their new album ‘Hackney Diamonds’ completed.<\/p>\n
\nHe said: “Hats off to Mick for his part. Actually, he fell in line with what I\u2019ve been saying for years!<\/p>\n
\n“When a lead singer says to you, \u2018I want to record\u2019, get them in the studio straight away!<\/p>\n
\n“That energy feeds the rest of us. I mean, an enthusiastic Mick is far easier to work with than a bewildered or disgruntled Mick. Let\u2019s just get him while he\u2019s in this mood.”<\/p>\n
\nKeith also revealed he still speaks to late Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts, who passed away in 2021.<\/p>\n
\nHe said: “I still have conversations with the man, which I fully expect to continue.”<\/p>\n
\nAnd, Keith praised his wife Patti Hansen, for supporting him, saying: “She\u2019s my rock, man. Amazing woman. I\u2019m going to write a book about her. She keeps me together.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
