Tori Spelling<\/strong> <\/a>paid tribute to her late Beverly Hills, 90210<\/em> <\/a>costar Luke Perry<\/a> on what would have been his 57th birthday.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cCould be a million people in the room but he always made you feel like you were the only one,\u201d Spelling, 50, wrote via her Instagram Story on Wednesday, October 11, alongside a throwback photo of the pair.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u201cGood kind humans are a rare breed. I don\u2019t know that many sadly. He was one.\u00a0Happy Birthday<\/span><\/span>. Missing you always.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Perry died of a stroke at the age of 52<\/a> in March 2019, one month after Us Weekly\u00a0<\/em>confirmed he was taken to the hospital in Los Angeles following a 9-1-1 call. Perry is survived by his son Jack, 26, and daughter Sophie, 23<\/a>, whom he shared with ex-wife Rachel\u00a0\u201cMinnie\u201d\u00a0Sharp<\/strong>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201c[Perry] was surrounded by his children Jack and Sophie, fianc\u00e9e Wendy Madison<\/strong> Bauer, ex-wife Minnie Sharp, mother Ann Bennett<\/strong>, stepfather Steve Bennett<\/strong>, brother Tom Perry<\/strong>, sister Amy Coder<\/strong> and other close family and friends,\u201d his rep said in a statement to\u00a0Us<\/em> at the time. \u201cThe family appreciates the outpouring of support and prayers that have been extended to Luke from around the world, and respectfully request privacy in this time of great mourning. No further details will be released at this time.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Perry most recently starred as Fred Andrews in the CW hit series Riverdale<\/em>, but he was best known for his role as Dylan McKay on Beverly Hills, 90210<\/em>, alongside Spelling, Jennie Garth<\/strong><\/a>, Jason Priestley<\/strong><\/a>, Ian Ziering<\/strong><\/a>, Brian Austin Green<\/strong><\/a>, Gabrielle Carteris<\/strong> <\/a>and Shannen Doherty<\/strong><\/a>. The Fox series ran for a total of 10 seasons from 1990 to 2000.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Shortly following his death, a Beverly Hills, 90210<\/em> reboot \u2014 titled BH90210<\/em>, in which the actors portrayed heightened versions of themselves \u2014 was announced by Fox. Every member of the original series returned for the show, paying tribute to Perry during the series premiere.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Wednesday\u2019s shoutout isn\u2019t the first time Spelling has taken to social media to honor her longtime friend and costar. For Perry\u2019s 55th birthday, she described the Oz<\/em> alum as a \u201cfriend\u201d and \u201cbrother.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI remember meeting you as a young insecure teen girl,\u201d she wrote via Instagram in October 2021. \u201cYou were the first boy to ever make me feel worth as a human<\/a>, a female, and a comedienne. As a friend and big brother. You stood up for me fiercely. Went to brawl literally for me when I was in a verbally abusive relationship and sat and talked me thru the most insecure moments of a teen angst girl\u2019s life.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

She added: \u201c<\/span>You had a way of making every single human feel confident, heard, and special the minute they met you. Your energy was pure selfless love. A giver in this ungiving life. Your loving nature carried thru decades.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
