This Is Us\u2018 final season ends with the Tuesday, May 24, series finale, leaving the award-winning cast open for new projects. Milo Ventimiglia, for one, has already begun other projects, reuniting with Gilmore Girls creator Amy [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
\u201cI think music in particular is a little more vulnerable because it\u2019s me. It\u2019s not Chrissy as another character. It\u2019s \u2018Oh, here\u2019s my heart and my soul,\u2019 and I\u2019m going to be literally sharing that on a microphone,\u201d she told Us<\/i>. \u201cThere\u2019s nowhere to hide. I mean, you\u2019re just so exposed. I think aside from stand-up comedy, I think that\u2019s most vulnerable [thing].\u201d<\/p>\n
While Metz did not want Moore or any of her other friends to listen to an early version of Prayed For This Day<\/i>, she gushed over the special relationship she has with her This Is Us <\/i>castmates<\/a>.<\/p>\n\u201cI think there was just this time and space of everybody at this point in their lives and their ages and their careers, and I mean, from Sterling [K. Brown]<\/strong> <\/a>to every single person on the cast to Miranda Siwak Dan [Fogelman]<\/strong><\/a>, to the crew, it was, like, lightning in a bottle,\u201d she told Us<\/i>. \u201cAnd you can\u2019t even plan that. You could dream of it, but I just think it was the right people, the right place, the right time, what the world needed, what we as the people making the show needed.\u201d<\/p>\nMetz added: \u201cWe\u2019re still friends and we constantly are in contact<\/a> or hanging out, and you really form a bond. It was honest and true, and because the show was honest and true, we can then be that way with each other. Yeah, so it\u2019s a whole thing.\u201d<\/p>\nSince the show wrapped, Metz collaborated with ex-boyfriend Bradley Collins<\/strong><\/a>, who announced their split earlier this month<\/a>, on their joint book When I Talk to God, I Talk About You <\/i>and LP Prayed For This Day.<\/i> The duo \u2014 along with Phil Barton<\/strong>, Liz Rose<\/strong> and Jen Wayne<\/strong> \u2014 wrote 10 songs in less than one week before Metz went into the recording studio.<\/p>\n\u201cWe were pressed for time \u2026 and it just all sort of fell out,\u201d Metz said. \u201cWe took a lot of the through lines [from our] book about learning to be brave and that you\u2019re loved no matter what, and about making friends. I think the foundation was there, but I did not expect to have written 10 songs and recorded them within 30 days.\u201d<\/p>\n
