Something sweet, indeed! Dan Jeannotte<\/strong> made his Hallmark Channel debut in 2015 on the Good Witch<\/em><\/a> \u2014 and he\u2019s now become a leading man for the network.<\/p>\n The 41-year-old actor portrayed Brandon Russell from season 1 to 5 \u2014 from 2015 to 2019 \u2014 of the Hallmark series, which ended in 2021 after seven seasons.<\/p>\n Following his stint on the show, Jeannotte filmed his first rom-com<\/a> for the network, 2019\u2019s Paris, Wine & Romance<\/em>. In the movie, he played a Parisian winemaker named Jacques who falls for an Oregon vintner named Isabella (Jen Lilley<\/strong><\/a>) during a prestigious wine competition in France.<\/p>\n \u201cI think a love story that takes place in Paris between a plucky young American winemaker and an old school French wine man kind of sells itself,\u201d Jeannotte told TV Goodness in May 2019<\/a> of the story line. \u201cI think it\u2019s wonderful. It looks beautiful. It\u2019s got a lot of spirit to it. It\u2019s got a really cute story between two very likable leads. And there\u2019s French accents, right?\u201d<\/p>\n He joked that despite being a \u201ccasual wine drinker,\u201d he was \u201cwilling\u201d to learn more about the differences in wine<\/a> for his role.<\/p>\n \u201cWhat\u2019s funny is my go-to is Pinot Noir, which is what my character makes [in the movie],\u201d the Royal Nanny<\/em> star explained, noting he turned to a friend who is a sommelier for guidance. \u201cYou have to learn the vocabulary and train your palate. But it\u2019s a training I am willing to do. I will put the time in.\u201d<\/p>\n When it comes to Jeannotte\u2019s first film of 2023 for Hallmark, he once again worked with food. In Sweeter Than Chocolate<\/em><\/a>, which premieres on Saturday, February 4, the actor plays a journalist named Dean Chase who is skeptical of chocolatier Lucy Sweet\u2019s (Eloise Mumford<\/strong>) family\u2019s magical sweet recipe.<\/p>\n \u201cAnyone who eats one of the chocolate cupids is guaranteed to find their true love,\u201d the January 2023 trailer<\/a> for the movie teased, hinting that the two leads may have \u201cA bittersweet romance\u201d or fall in \u201clove at first bite.\u201d<\/p>\n Jeanotte exclusively told Us Weekly<\/em> in February 2023 that his character\u2019s love life isn\u2019t the only romance captured in the film.<\/p>\n \u201c[We\u2019re] seeing gay love stories, love stories with people who met later in life, older people who fell in love after having a marriage or losing a partner,\u201d he said of the \u201cdiverse\u201d side characters. \u201cAnd it just goes to show there [are as] many different ways to fall in love as there are different people in the world.\u201d<\/p>\n The Home for a Royal Heart<\/em> actor also teased while his and Mumford\u2019s characters have issues with one another in the film, the actors had an easy time working together. \u201cEloise and I got along famously. It was so good working together,\u201d Jeannotte said. \u201cWe didn\u2019t know each other beforehand, but we just kind of clicked immediately.\u201d<\/p>\n In keeping with the \u201cLoveuary\u201d theme on Hallmark<\/a>, the network also released a special collection of chocolates<\/a> that fans can buy to eat while watching Sweeter Than Chocolate<\/em>.<\/p>\n
