Jada Pinkett Smith<\/strong><\/a> and Will Smith<\/strong><\/a> were once one of Hollywood\u2019s beloved couples<\/a> after they wed in 1997 and welcomed kids Jaden<\/strong><\/a> and Willow<\/strong><\/a>. However, people were surprised to learn that the former \u201cRed Table Talk\u201d host and Fresh Prince of Bel-Air<\/em> actor have been separated for the past seven years<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe live separately,\u201d Jada told TODAY<\/em>\u2019s Hoda Kotb<\/strong><\/a> on October 11. \u201cI made a promise that there will never be a reason for us to get a divorce. We will work through whatever. And I just haven\u2019t been able to break that promise.\u201d<\/p>\n

While their marital status has been a hot topic amongst fans, others are revisiting Jada\u2019s alleged \u201centanglement\u201d with musician August Alsina<\/strong>. In 2020, the \u201cNo Love\u201d singer dropped a major bombshell that he and the Girls Trip<\/em> actress were once romantically linked during her marriage to Will, but when exactly did their linking take place?<\/p>\n

When Was Jada Pinkett Smith With August Alsina?<\/h2>\n

Jada initially denied August\u2019s relationship claims<\/a>, but later admitted that they in fact did embark on a relationship in 2016, noting she and Will had briefly put their marriage on pause.<\/p>\n

\u201cYes, it was a relationship, absolutely. I was in a lot of pain, and I was very broken,\u201d she said during a July 2020 episode of \u201cRed Table Talk,\u201d labeling her romance with August as an \u201centanglement.\u201d \u201cNow in the process of that relationship, I definitely realized that you can\u2019t find happiness outside of yourself.\u201d<\/p>\n

That being said, Jada admitted, \u201cIt had been so long since I felt good. It was really a joy to help heal somebody.\u201d<\/p>\n

Later that month, the Louisiana native responded to Jada\u2019s revelation and agreed that \u201centanglement\u201d was the best word to describe their bond.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you look up the definition of \u2018entanglement,\u2019 it is a complex and difficult relationship. It was exactly that. I definitely have to agree with it being an entanglement,\u201d August told Vulture at the time. \u201cIt definitely was something complicated, a complicated dynamic.\u201d<\/p>\n

Are Jada Pinkett Smith and August Alsina \u200bon Good Terms?<\/h2>\n

During the same interview, the \u201cSong Cry\u201d musician shared his \u201clove\u201d for Jada and the rest of the Smith family.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019ve been my family, and there\u2019s a lot of history there. They\u2019re beautiful people. They\u2019re beautiful spirits. They really are,\u201d he continued to the publication. \u201cThere\u2019s no bad blood with anybody. [My confession] came from a loving place. There\u2019s no bad love with anybody. I got love for everybody on this planet.\u201d<\/p>\n

August capitalized on his headline-making romance with Jada and released the song \u201cEntanglements\u201d in late July 2020.<\/p>\n

Jada went on to make public appearances and confessions about the love triangle with Will; however, it seems like they never fully got back together after she revealed their current split in October 2023.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think [me and Will] were both kind of just still, stuck in our fantasy, of what we thought the other person should be,\u201d she said during her TODAY<\/em> show interview.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
