Cher broke her dating rules to be with Alexander ‘AE’ Edwards<\/p>\n
The 77-year-old singer met the 37-year-old producer “for about 15 minutes” at a Paris Fashion Week event a year ago and she was stunned when a mutual friend gave him her number, but love blossomed between them and she was happy to break her dating rules because her beau is “just so special”.<\/p>\n
She told People magazine: \u201cIt was really shocking, because people just don\u2019t give out my number.<\/p>\n
\u201cI had been telling all my friends, \u2018We\u2019re too old to go out with really younger men, and I will never fall in love on text.\u2019 So I did what I said not to do!<\/p>\n
\u201cI hate when people say people are special, but lots of people say I\u2019m special, so I can say that he\u2019s special.”<\/p>\n
\nWhile Cher understand people might think their romance is “doomed”, she doesn’t care how long their relationship lasts because she is having so much fun.<\/p>\n
\nShe said: “No matter what happens, I love being with him. He makes me laugh, and we have fun. What I learned is that it\u2019s never too late. If you wrote out all the statistics, you would go, \u2018Well, this is doomed.\u2019 But we\u2019ve been together a year, and if it was just a year, it would\u2019ve been worth it. I\u2019ve had the best time.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cIf you have happiness, you can\u2019t think about how long it\u2019s going to last,\u201d she says. \u201cYou have to think about \u2018How does it feel?\u2019 and live in the moment.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nThe ‘Believe’ hitmaker is “not surprised” their 40-year age gap has attracted so much attention.<\/p>\n
\nShe explained: \u201cAlexander\u2019s got diamond teeth, tattoos, white hair, and he\u2019s way younger. He\u2019s a beautiful man.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cAlso, I think it\u2019s fun to be interested in somebody else\u2019s love life!\u201d <\/p>\n
\nAnd the couple’s relationship isn’t just personal as AE produced Cher’s new festive track ‘Drop Top Sleigh Ride’.<\/p>\n
\nShe gushed: “He’s a great producer. I let him do ‘Drop Top Sleigh.’ That’s a hard thing to do when you are in love with someone and then you say, ‘OK, here, take this record and do what you want with it.’ But I had faith. And I was so thrilled.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
