Jerry Seinfeld<\/strong><\/a> is hinting at a big surprise for Seinfeld<\/em><\/a> fans decades after the series finale of his eponymous sitcom.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, I have a little secret for you about the ending, and I can\u2019t really tell it,\u201d Seinfeld, 69, said during his stand-up show in Boston on Saturday, October 7, while responding to a fan\u2019s question about the final episode, per footage shared via X<\/a>. \u201cBecause it is a secret.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Seinfeld couldn\u2019t divulge all the details to the audience, he did tease that he and cocreator Larry David<\/strong><\/a> have an idea in the works<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cHere\u2019s what I\u2019ll tell you, you can\u2019t tell anybody. Something is going to happen that has to do with that ending. It hasn\u2019t happened yet,\u201d Seinfeld confessed, earning loud cheers from the audience. \u201cJust what you are thinking about, Larry and I have also been thinking about. So, you\u2019ll see.\u201d<\/p>\n

When Seinfeld debuted on July 5, 1989, no one imagined that the NBC sitcom, created by Larry David and Jerry Seinfeld about friends living in Manhattan, would go on for nine seasons. It spanned 180 [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The Seinfeld<\/em> finale \u2014 which aired 25 years ago \u2014 ended with main character Jerry and his friends Elaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus<\/strong><\/a>), George (Jason Alexander<\/strong><\/a>) and Kramer (Michael Richards<\/strong>) being arrested and sent to prison for their shenanigans throughout the show\u2019s nine seasons. The 1998 episode was one of the most-watched television broadcasts in history, with more than 76 million people tuning in, but the ending still earned backlash from the fans.<\/p>\n

Nine years after its initial airing, Seinfeld spoke out about why he thinks the finale was so controversial among die-hard fans.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think one of the things that people had a problem with is that it didn\u2019t feel like the show,\u201d he recalled during a cast roundtable<\/a> in 2007. \u201cBecause it wasn\u2019t small. It was big, and we didn\u2019t really do big. Small was really our instrument that we played. And that might have been why the people that were so used to the show and liked it so much felt a little, \u2018This doesn\u2019t fit in.’\u201d<\/p>\n
