Millions agree with the \u201cWatermelon Moonshine\u201d singer. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/celebrities\/morgan-wallen\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Morgan Wallen<\/strong><\/a> has been a fixture at the top of the <em>Billboard<\/em> Hot 100, with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/celebrities\/jason-aldean\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Jason Aldean<\/strong><\/a>,<strong> Jelly Roll<\/strong>, <strong>Oliver Anthony<\/strong>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/celebrity-news\/news\/spotify-uses-zach-bryans-mugshot-as-outlaw-playlist-cover-art\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Zach Bryan<\/strong><\/a>, <strong>Tyler Childers<\/strong>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/celebrities\/kacey-musgraves\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Kacey Musgraves<\/strong><\/a> and Wilson herself all making numerous appearances on the rest of the chart.<\/p>\n<p>The same can be said on the Billboard albums chart, where<a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/celebrities\/luke-combs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong> Luke Combs<\/strong><\/a>, Wallen, Bryan and Jelly Roll continue to put up numbers. \u201cI think country music is cooler than it\u2019s ever been,\u201d remarks Wilson, who credits this year\u2019s success as the result of momentum that started in 2020. \u201cI mean, it has never not been cool. But, I think during the pandemic, people found themselves doing whatever to make them feel grounded and feel at home. And I think country music makes you feel at home.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think a lot of people found themselves through country music. You think about all those artists and that it was a movement, a real movement.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut the other similarity that I find, I think, is country music is about that storytelling,\u201d says Wilson. \u201cI think we\u2019re getting back to a little bit more of that, just like it was in the \u201890s.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think country radio is not afraid to play a story song. I mean, even the song that me and <strong>HARDY<\/strong> got to do together this year \u2013 \u2018Wait in the Truck\u2019 \u2014 I mean, it\u2019s a murder ballad, but it\u2019s the kind of song that they would\u2019ve played back in the \u201890s,\u201d she continues. \u201cI think people were craving that and longing just to feel something.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Wilson has been making listeners feel something since she began her career in the early 2010s. The Baskin, Louisiana native began self-releasing music before signing with BBR Music Group in 2018. Her breakout single, \u201cThings a Man Oughta Know,\u201d hit the airwaves and streaming services in 2020, reaching No. 1 on the U.S. Country Airplay charts (and No. 32 on the Billboard Hot 100). In 2022, she released Bell Bottom Country, her second major-label album. The album won Album of the Year at the Academy of Country Music Awards, where she also won Female Artist of the Year.<\/p>\n<p>Though Wilson is not afraid of incorporating pop and southern rock elements into her sound, All Music describes her music as \u201ctough but heartfelt contemporary country\u201d at heart. Wilson\u2019s voice and uncompromising values led her to partner with Lone River Ranch Water. In May, she teamed with the brand to unveil a limited-edition packaging at a luncheon celebrating trailblazing women. In the first week of October, she treated fans in Nashville by handing out Lone River Ranch Water and tickets to an intimate performance dubbed \u201cA Night on the Ranch with Lainey Wilson &amp; Friends.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>How did Wilson come to partner with the beverage brand? \u201cI love [<strong>Katie Beal Brown<\/strong>\u2019s] story,\u201d says Wilson, referring to Lone River\u2019s founder. \u201cI think she has a very similar story to mine and I can relate to her.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Wilson said she and Beal Brown have similar backgrounds and values since they both were born into a farming family.<br \/>\u201cI think when you\u2019re from a farming family like that, you really do have a work ethic that\u2019s just ingrained in you,\u201d adds Wilson. \u201cI see it all over her and I think it\u2019s really important to acknowledge strong, powerful women and help each other, bring each other up, help each other over that wall, and I think that\u2019s what she\u2019s done for me and what I\u2019m doing for her too.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Beal Brown describes Lone River as \u201ca real brand from a real place and a real family,\u201d telling <em>Us<\/em>: \u201cLaney and I connected early on because we both grew up in a small town and we have that kind of small-town sensibility; she even more than me. We\u2019ve been on this wild ride over the past couple of years. Superstars Faith Hill and Tim McGraw have a love story for the ages \u2014 and their chemistry is still electric on stage after more than 20 years together. The twosome tied the knot in 1996 and went [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Wilson is also obligated to be as authentic as possible and pay her good success forward. When speaking with <em>Us Weekly<\/em> about the Nashville show, she was excited to talk about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/jdw_music\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Jake Worthington<\/strong><\/a>. \u201cHe\u2019s from Oklahoma, but he sounds like a Texas boy,\u201d she says, \u201cOh my gosh, he\u2019s one of the most incredible singers I\u2019ve ever heard. Without stepping on anyone\u2019s boots, Wilson was delicate in her answer. \u201cI would consider Texas country, red dirt country, a little more raw,\u201d she said, adding that country music from Oklahoma is \u201ca little more Americana leading. Correct me if I\u2019m wrong, but that\u2019s where my brain goes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Where Wilson\u2019s brain goes, country music is sure to follow. The \u201cSave Me\u201d singer says that \u201cthe whole tone has shifted\u201d when it comes to the genre. \u201cYou\u2019re [always] going to have your party songs, your \u2018Hell yeah! Just write it, make something with a good melody. People aren\u2019t really listening to it that much.\u2019 That is not the case anymore,\u201d says Wilson. \u201cPeople are diving in, dissecting the music, and that\u2019s a beautiful thing for songwriters.
