\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n Conan O\u2019Brien<\/strong><\/a> is looking back at his days with The Simpsons<\/strong><\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n On a recent episode of his Conan O\u2019Brien Needs a Friend<\/a><\/em> podcast, the 60-year-old former late-night host was asked by guest Ed Sheeran<\/strong><\/a> about his time as a writer and producer on the animated series from 1992 to 1993. <\/p>\n \u201cSo many people think, \u2018Oh my god, this epic television show [that’s] known for its really good writers,\u2019\u201d he began.<\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThese people I got to work with are insanely talented, and the room is just awful. The room is terrible. It looks like the worst \u2014 I mean, it did at the time, I think it\u2019s much nicer now \u2014 there was just a bad shag carpet. Sofas that, if you\u2019re in your first year at college or university, you just get them off the sidewalk.\u201d <\/p>\n He added that the writers would often \u201csit there and eat fried food\u201d while waiting for inspiration to strike. \u201cThere was a writer who smoked all the time who sat next to me, so when I die, it will be because of him.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cIt wasn\u2019t sexy or fun or cool at all. I remember, we all chewed up some caramel and put it together into a big blob and mashed it up into the ceiling and then tried to get things to stick to it because you\u2019ll do anything to pass the time,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n \u201cI would go and say, \u2018here\u2019s what I think should happen,\u2019 and I would have all these beats and ideas for an episode. And, if they liked it, there was a little gong in the room\u2026 if the executive producer was really laughing, someone would get up and bang the gong and say, \u2018That\u2019s going to be an episode.\u2019 I remember the couple of times where they banged the gong when I said my episode and I was so excited.\u201d<\/p>\n He also revealed his worst celebrity guest on his talk show.<\/a><\/p>\n
