More battery, more processor, more sensors, more Fitbit software under the hood \u2014 this sounds like the Apple Watch competitor the Android world really needed.<\/li>\n<li class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup mb-16 pl-12 font-fkroman text-18 leading-160 -tracking-1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/ubisoft.pxf.io\/c\/482924\/864200\/12050?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ubisoft.com%2Fen-us%2Fgame%2Fassassins-creed%2Fmirage&amp;subid1=Installer100623\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em><strong>Assassin\u2019s Creed Mirage<\/strong><\/em><\/a><em><strong>.<\/strong><\/em> I haven\u2019t played this one yet, but I hear great things, and I love me some Assassin\u2019s Creed. For years, it\u2019s been basically the same game, only relentlessly bigger and more confusing, but this Egypt-set installment appears to be a return to its relentless form. This is my long-weekend project \u2014 one of them, anyway.<\/li>\n<li class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup mb-16 pl-12 font-fkroman text-18 leading-160 -tracking-1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/forza.net\/motorsport\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em><strong>Forza Motorsport<\/strong><\/em><\/a><em><strong>.<\/strong> <\/em>My other long-weekend project. An ultra-realistic, ultra-detailed game with endless <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/23905255\/forza-motorsport-launch-date-first-impressions\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">side quests and upgrade tasks<\/a> is pretty much everything I can ask for in a racing game. Now I just have to figure out how to sneak a full simulator rig into my house without anyone noticing\u2026<\/li>\n<li class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup mb-16 pl-12 font-fkroman text-18 leading-160 -tracking-1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.spotify.com\/us\/audiobooks\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Spotify audiobooks<\/strong><\/a><strong>.<\/strong> I don\u2019t love the way audiobooks are integrated within Spotify, but I do love getting <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2023\/10\/3\/23902039\/spotify-audiobooks-subscription-podcast-audible-amazon-pushkin\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">15 hours of audiobook listening<\/a> a month with a Premium subscription. That\u2019s not a ton, but it\u2019s roughly 1.5 <em>Harry Potter<\/em> books, almost exactly one listen through <em>Ready Player One<\/em>, or, you know, 1 percent of a <em>Song of Ice and Fire<\/em> book. Without any upcharge! That\u2019s something! Audiobooks are too expensive, and this is a nice change.<\/li>\n<li class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup mb-16 pl-12 font-fkroman text-18 leading-160 -tracking-1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rewind.ai\/pendant\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>The Rewind Pendant<\/strong><\/a><strong>.<\/strong> This is straight out of sci-fi: a device you wear around your neck that records everything you say and hear, summarizes it, and tells you what matters later. Awesome? Horrifying? Who knows. But Rewind is definitely one of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2023\/3\/23\/23653127\/rewind-ai-chatgpt-for-me-chatbot-mac\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the most interesting companies in AI<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup mb-16 pl-12 font-fkroman text-18 leading-160 -tracking-1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/disneyplus.bn5x.net\/c\/482924\/564546\/9358?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.disneyplus.com%2Fseries%2Floki%2F6pARMvILBGzF%3Fcid%3DDTCI-Synergy-Disneycom-Site-Awareness-Originals-US-Marvel-Loki-EN-HomeScreenBanner-Stream_on_DisneyPlus_button_Loki_Season_2_show_page-NA&amp;subid1=Installer100623\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><em>Loki<\/em> season 2<\/strong><\/a><strong>.<\/strong> <em>Loki <\/em>and <em>Wandavision <\/em>are easily my two favorite Marvel shows from the last few years, so I was psyched to see Tom Hiddleston back as the universe\u2019s favorite long-haired trickster. And unlike so many Marvel things recently, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/23901027\/loki-season-2-review-marvel-disney-plus\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Loki<\/em>\u2019s second season is pretty good<\/a>! I might even rewatch season 1 just to be fully ready.<\/li>\n<li class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup mb-16 pl-12 font-fkroman text-18 leading-160 -tracking-1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/click.linksynergy.com\/deeplink?id=OHlcvPYhHQM&amp;mid=24542&amp;murl=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.microsoft.com%2Fen-us%2Fmicrosoft-365%2Fmicrosoft-lists&amp;u1=Installer100623\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>The new Microsoft Lists<\/strong><\/a><strong>.<\/strong> Microsoft is quietly building a really great set of simple productivity tools \u2014 between the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2023\/10\/3\/23901682\/microsoft-onedrive-new-design-copilot-offline-features\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">also-new OneDrive<\/a>, the always-great To Do, and the new Lists app that\u2019s great for everything from shopping lists to to-watch lists, the ecosystem here is looking pretty great.<\/li>\n<li class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup mb-16 pl-12 font-fkroman text-18 leading-160 -tracking-1\"><strong>\u201c<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/go.redirectingat.com\/?xs=1&amp;id=1025X1701640&amp;url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3D5pYeoZaoWrA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>This is financial advice<\/strong><\/a><strong>.\u201d<\/strong> Someday, I won\u2019t reflexively tell everyone to watch everything Folding Ideas publishes. It turns your iPad into a display for pretty much anything that uses a display, from a game console to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/@verge\/video\/7285376730733301035\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a Windows 98 computer<\/a>. It\u2019s a simple concept, but Orion is a really fun and clever app.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"duet--article--article-body-component\">\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph mb-20 font-fkroman text-18 leading-160 -tracking-1 selection:bg-franklin-20 dark:text-white dark:selection:bg-blurple [&amp;_a:hover]:shadow-highlight-franklin dark:[&amp;_a:hover]:shadow-highlight-blurple [&amp;_a]:shadow-underline-black dark:[&amp;_a]:shadow-underline-white\">I heard from a lot of folks (a <em>lot <\/em>of folks) that you were into Orion. So I asked Sebastiaan de With, the co-creator of Orion and Halide and other apps, to share a few unexpected tips and tricks on how to make the most of Orion. We built <a href=\"https:\/\/go.redirectingat.com\/?xs=1&amp;id=1025X1701640&amp;url=https%3A%2F%2Fapps.apple.com%2Fus%2Fapp%2Fhalide-mark-ii-pro-camera%2Fid885697368\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>a Halide update<\/strong><\/a> for the iPhone 15 Pro Action Button, and while recording a video tutorial, I set up my large 12.9-inch iPad Pro as a monitor so I can verify my manual focus is sharp and exposure looks great.\u201d\u00a0<\/li>\n<li class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup mb-16 pl-12 font-fkroman text-18 leading-160 -tracking-1\"><strong>Daisy-chain your screens.<\/strong> \u201cAn extra tip with that: I actually sometimes AirPlay my iPad screen to my MacBook Pro or TV if I want to check Orion\u2019s video monitor on an even bigger or closer screen. It works super well, and it\u2019s pretty awesome. I\u2019ve even shared my screen before so a friend could see what I was up to!\u201d<\/li>\n<li class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup mb-16 pl-12 font-fkroman text-18 leading-160 -tracking-1\"><strong>Screen-record all the things.<\/strong> \u201cWith Screen Recording on, I tap to hide the Orion chrome and record a full-fledged bit of video from my camera or gameplay for easy sharing. I really dig this feature.\u201d<\/li>\n<li class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup mb-16 pl-12 font-fkroman text-18 leading-160 -tracking-1\"><strong>Bring retro gear back.<\/strong> \u201cIt\u2019s a little thing, but I only waited until this week (since it has been iPhone season, a busy time for us) to play some old classics, and the CRT effects included in Orion Pro are a treat on larger iPads.\u201d<\/li>\n<li class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup mb-16 pl-12 font-fkroman text-18 leading-160 -tracking-1\"><strong>Make it a status checker. <\/strong>\u201dAn unexpected use case I saw from people was that lots of folks use it to check on and keep their headless servers \/ setups running.
