\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n There was a time when One Direction<\/strong><\/a> was undeniably the biggest boy band on the planet, but they were never the only boy band releasing music. <\/p>\n To this day, Harry Styles<\/strong><\/a>, Zayn Malik<\/strong><\/a>, Niall Horan<\/strong><\/a>, Louis Tomlinson<\/strong><\/a> and Liam Payne<\/strong><\/a> are very recognizable. <\/p>\n However, back in 2012, the quintet was still new enough to the scene that The Wanted<\/strong><\/a> \u2013 another boy band \u2013 got mixed up for them on the red carpet at a major music event. The Wanted<\/strong> singer Max George<\/strong><\/a> just looked back on the funny moment. <\/p>\n Read more about the mixup\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Taking to Twitter<\/a>, Max <\/strong>shared what appears to be a photo of the group posing together at the 2012 MTV Video Music Award<\/em>. The sharply dressed group featured five guys about the same age as One Direction<\/strong>, which was seemingly enough to confuse people on the carpet. <\/p>\n \u201cWas just thinking about this day.. we did an entire red carpet under the pretence[sic] we were @onedirection,\u201d he tweeted, joking, \u201cit was lovely whilst it lasted.\u201d<\/p>\n That year both One Direction<\/strong> and The Wanted<\/strong> were in the running for Best New Artist. 1D <\/strong>took home the Moon Person and won two more during the ceremony. <\/p>\n On the topic of One Direction, we looked into the possibility of an eventual reunion<\/a>.<\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n \t\t\t\t<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
