It\u2019s been nearly a month since Jill Duggar published her debut memoir<\/a> \u2014 and her family is still curiously quiet on the topic.<\/p>\n Not surprisingly, Jill\u2019s parents, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, lashed out against the book<\/a> before it was even published.<\/p>\n But her many brothers and sisters have mostly decided to steer clear of the controversy.<\/p>\n Jed Duggar condemned Jill\u2019s memoir<\/a>, but the others have declined to weigh in at all. <\/p>\n\n The few who have remarked on the situation have rather curiously claimed that they haven\u2019t even read the book.<\/p>\n During a recent YouTube Q&A session, Joy-Anna Duggar said that she intends to read the book<\/a> but hasn\u2019t gotten around to it yet.<\/p>\n Jinger Duggar offered a similar excuse<\/a>, claiming that she plans to pick up a copy of her sister\u2019s literary debut, but she\u2019s been busy with other matters.<\/p>\n\n \u201cI am eager to,\u201d Jinger said in an interview with Tamron Hall.<\/p>\n \u201cJill\u2019s a brave girl,\u201d she continued.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd I think her coming out and telling her story \u2026 I know that is the hardest thing to do.\u201d<\/p>\n That\u2019s high praise, but really \u2014 why hasn\u2019t Jinger read her sister\u2019s memoir?<\/p>\n It\u2019s been out for a month, and it\u2019s only around 270 pages long.<\/p>\n We\u2019re sure Jinger has a lot on her plate, but it seems like something else is going on here.<\/p>\n Not surprisingly, critics were quick to accuse Jinger of failing to support her sister during a very vulnerable time.<\/p>\n But it turns out that Jill harbors no ill will toward Jinger or any of the Duggars who have chosen to side-step this particular controversy by remaining silent.<\/p>\n After all, if there\u2019s anyone who understands the fearsome power of Jim Bob and his ability to wreak havoc on the lives of his children, it\u2019s Jill.<\/p>\n \u201cI kind of refrain from saying specifically who is like in our corner and who\u2019s still sorting things out,\u201d Jill told CNN in a recent interview<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201c[Jinger] doesn\u2019t care that I say anything, but she\u2019s been very supportive and very positive,\u201d she continued. <\/p>\n \u201cAnd then some of the other ones have been supportive behind closed doors. I just know for them and the space that they\u2019re in, they have to be careful.\u201d<\/p>\n While fans might continue to wish that Jinger would speak out on Jill\u2019s behalf, the situation is nuanced, delicate, and potentially dangerous.<\/p>\n Escaping a cult is no easy feat, and Jill seems to understand that her siblings need to protect themselves however they see fit.<\/p>\n If that means pretending they haven\u2019t read her book, then so be it.<\/p>\n We\u2019re sure Jill understands that her brothers and sisters have already endured enough controversy for one lifetime.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
