The Voice<\/i><\/a> isn\u2019t Rudi Gutierrez<\/strong>\u2019s first foray into reality TV as she previously appeared on The Bachelor: Listen to Your Heart<\/i><\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Bachelor Nation franchise spinoff<\/a> debuted on ABC in the middle of the coronavirus pandemic lockdown, where a crop of single musicians sought to find both love and a record deal. Rudi, now 28, was one of the hopefuls looking for romance<\/a> on the reality TV series, quickly developing a crush<\/a> on fellow contestant Matt Ranaudo<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Despite interest in Matt, now 35, Rudi did not want their spark to burn out too fast and notably dodged his kiss when they went into the hot tub during the April 2020 premiere. Thinking the near-kiss meant that Rudi was no longer interested, Matt invited Mel Taevin<\/strong> on his first one-on-one. After realizing they didn\u2019t have chemistry, he wanted to get back in Rudi\u2019s good graces.<\/p>\n

\u201cSometimes stuff comes out of my mouth that I don\u2019t even know what\u2019s going on,\u201d Matt told Rudi after she claimed he led her on from the get-go.<\/p>\n

Add in nudity, a ticking timeline and the opportunity to explore a connection with multiple people, and there\u2019s enough content to keep audiences on their toes forever. With odd formats come surprising romances.\u00a0Bachelor in Paradise contestants\u00a0Carly Waddell and Evan Bass [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

While Rudi called him out for making her look like a \u201cdumbass,\u201d she ultimately opted to give her rose to Ryan Neal<\/strong>. Cheyenne Arnell<\/strong> then decided to save Matt during the rose ceremony.<\/p>\n

As the weeks went on, Matt had the chance to make it up<\/a> to Rudi and they made sweet music together during the challenge performances. The duo even made it to the finale week<\/a>, which took them to Las Vegas for the live gigs.<\/p>\n

Rudi, however, was upset that Matt was not adept at communicating his emotions<\/a> before he revealed that he was hesitant to fall in love because of the walls he had built up from past relationships. In fact, when Rudi revealed that she was falling for him, he merely thanked her for \u201csharing [her] truth.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite a rocky last week together, Rudi and Matt came together for an emotional cover of Lady Gaga<\/strong> and Bradley Cooper<\/strong>\u2019s \u201cShallow,\u201d<\/a> which earned rave reviews from the judges. The performance even solidified Matt\u2019s desire to continue making music with Rudi \u201cforever.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tNever too much Bachelor? That seems to be the case at ABC! The Bachelor franchise, which first debuted in 2002, has expanded into an entity completely of its own over the years \u2014 and that\u2019s not going to stop any time soon. Since the start, the Chris Harrison-hosted series has launched many extremely successful (and [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

While the duo ended on somewhat solid ground, they lost The Bachelor: Listen to Your Heart<\/i><\/a> to Bri Stauss<\/strong> and Chris Watson<\/strong>. (Bri and Chris ultimately split in January 2021<\/a> after releasing a joint LP.)<\/p>\n

After leaving the show, Rudi and Matt continued to date on and off.<\/p>\n

\u201cMatt just had a really hard time navigating his feelings throughout this whole entire thing,\u201d Rudi said during a May 2020 interview on the \u201cBachelor Happy Hour\u201d <\/a>podcast. \u201cWhen you do perform in front of those judges and you have a great performance, how can you not be on cloud 25? You\u2019re on a whole other level of happiness. I was always there with him.\u201d<\/p>\n

She added: \u201cWe\u2019re very, very close. He\u2019s a confused person, and I\u2019ll let him be confused. My feelings cannot just turn off like that, so I\u2019d be lying if I said I didn\u2019t care about him. We\u2019ll see what happens.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rudi later claimed in 2021 that Matt lied to her and secretly had another girlfriend<\/a> during the duration of their relationship.<\/p>\n

\u201cI haven\u2019t said anything because there is a lot to this situation and I haven\u2019t wanted to publicly air it all out. I\u2019m not hiding anything. I have just been dealing with a lot,\u201d he wrote in an Instagram Story statement at the time, denying Rudi\u2019s claims. \u201cThings with my family and things in my life. The bottom line is I should have been upfront about the details of my on and off relationship. I was trying to keep everyone happy. I wish I explained it but I didn\u2019t so that\u2019s on me. Also, remember we weren\u2019t together!!\u201d<\/p>\n
