This article contains spoilers for episode 2 of Dancing With the Stars<\/em> season 32.<\/strong><\/p>\n The Dancing With the Stars<\/em><\/a> season 32 competition is heating up \u2014 and this week\u2019s elimination left judge Derek Hough<\/strong><\/a> stunned.<\/p>\n Cohosts Alfonso Ribeiro<\/strong><\/a> and Julianne Hough<\/strong><\/a> both wore red in honor of Latin Night on Tuesday, October 3. \u201cLatin night is gonna be hot, hot, hot,\u201d Julianne, 35, teased at the beginning of the episode.<\/p>\n While some duos thrived during the theme night \u2014 judge Carrie Anna Inaba<\/strong><\/a> told social media personality Lele Pons<\/strong><\/a> that she \u201cset this place on fire\u201d and \u201cburned it all down\u201d \u2014 others struggled.<\/p>\n After all the performances, Mauricio Umansky<\/strong> <\/a>and partner Emma Slater<\/strong><\/a> had the lowest score of the night. Harry Jowsey<\/strong><\/a> and Rylee Arnold<\/strong><\/a>, Barry Williams<\/strong><\/a> and Peta Murgatroyd<\/strong><\/a> and Adrian Peterson<\/strong> and Britt Stewart<\/strong> <\/a>were all tied for the second lowest Latin Night score.<\/p>\n Once viewers\u2019 votes were counted, Peterson, 38, and Stewart, 34, and Jamie Lynn Spears<\/strong> <\/a>and Alan Bersten<\/strong><\/a> found themselves in the bottom two. Spears, 32,\u00a0 and Bersten, 29, were ultimately eliminated from the competition.<\/p>\n After the results were announced, Spears said there were \u201ca lot of great parts\u201d of the experience, notably, \u201cDoing something I never thought I would do in my whole entire life.\u201d<\/p>\n When asked what he thought about the elimination, Derek, 38, told Ribeiro, 52, that he didn\u2019t see it coming. \u201cHonestly, it\u2019s quite surprising<\/a>. Jamie Lynn, you were fantastic, truly. You should be really proud of what you did here,\u201d he said. \u201cWow, it\u2019s a shocker, honestly. Jamie, we\u2019re gonna miss you.\u201d<\/p>\n Other contestants, meanwhile, found themselves shooting from the middle of the pack to the top of the leaderboard. Actress Xochitl Gomez<\/strong><\/a> and partner Val Chmerkovskiy<\/strong><\/a> earned a score of 24 after receiving an 18 during the premiere episode.<\/p>\n \u201cSalsa is your superpower, my friend,\u201d Inaba, 55, told Gomez, 17. \u201cThere was a flash of Rita Moreno<\/strong><\/a> in there.\u201d<\/p>\n Derek echoed the sentiment. \u201cYour spins are out of this world. That was exceptional,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n The judges also praised Charity Lawson<\/strong><\/a> for bringing her A-game despite not having partner Artem Chigvintsev <\/strong><\/a>by her side. The former Bachelorette<\/em><\/a>, 27, danced the Cha-Cha with temporary partner Ezra Sosa<\/strong><\/a> instead. The Dancing With the Stars<\/em> official Instagram page announced the lineup change on Tuesday ahead of the episode.<\/p>\n \u201cArtem will not be dancing tonight due to COVID<\/a>. Wishing him a quick recovery! \u2764\ufe0f ,\u201d the account captioned a photo of Charity, 27, and Ezra, 22. At the beginning of Latin Night, Ribeiro noted that Charity had tested negative for COVID-19 and was \u201cready for tonight\u2019s show.\u201d<\/p>\n The episode marked Sosa\u2019s debut as a pro competitor<\/a>. He joined the ABC competition series as a troupe dancer for season 30 in 2021. Chigvintsev, 41, showed his support for his temporary replacement via Instagram on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
