Teen Mom<\/em><\/a>\u00a0alum\u00a0Jenelle Evans<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0shares son Jace with former high school boyfriend,\u00a0Andrew Lewis<\/strong>, who has avoided the public eye since since they split in August 2009. However, he was later featured in an episode of\u00a0Teen Mom 2<\/em><\/a>\u00a0after reaching out to one of the show\u2019s executive producers to meet up with Jenelle and Jace. So, where has he been since they called it quits?<\/p>\n Keep reading to get an update on where Andrew is today.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n The\u00a0Teen Mom 2\u00a0<\/em>personality<\/a> and her ex\u2019s two-year romance began in high school when they initially met on the internet, as Jenelle pointed out in her July 2017 memoir\u00a0Read Between the Lines: From the Diary of a Teenage Mom<\/em>. They dated from 2007 to 2009 when he left her after Jace was born that August.<\/p>\n \u201cWe met online and talked through messages for a couple of weeks,\u201d the MTV star recalled in her book. \u201cJust after my birthday in December, we finally met in person.\u201d She then explained how \u201cenamored\u201d she was with him to the point where she didn\u2019t think twice about his drinking habits or their six-year age difference.<\/p>\n \u201cHe did drink, a lot,\u201d Jenelle wrote. \u201cI mean, I like a beer every now and again, but he stayed wasted most of the time. At 16, I thought that was so cool. He drank more than he should, and I thought it was so adult and fascinating.\u201d<\/p>\n Aside from Andrew\u2019s drinking choices, Jenelle also described one of the major downsides in their relationship, noting that she \u201cbecame a doormat for the guy.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cHe came and got what he wanted from me, when he wanted it, and I waited for him to tell me what to do,\u201d the \u201cJenelle Evans Podcast\u201d host added in her memoir. \u201cWe had to talk when he wanted to talk, no matter the odd hours. We had to go out when he wanted to go out. We did what he wanted to do.\u201d<\/p>\n And when Jenelle informed Andrew of her pregnancy, she claimed he \u201cput on a smile to make [her] happy.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cYet in my gut I could feel that he wasn\u2019t interested in having a kid,\u201d she wrote. \u201cI knew then he wouldn\u2019t stick around. And he didn\u2019t.\u201d<\/p>\n In Jenelle\u2019s 2017 memoir, she recalled how her then-high school sweetheart only \u201cvisited [her] a few times\u201d throughout her pregnancy journey on\u00a016 and Pregnant.<\/em><\/p>\n \u201cHe was more interested in partying with his friends and getting drunk than spending time with his pregnant girlfriend,\u201d Jenelle claimed in her book. \u201cNot to mention he was broker than f\u2013k and didn\u2019t have a job. What in the heck did I ever see in him?\u201d<\/p>\n As their relationship came to an end, Andrew broke up with Jenelle in order to start modeling in China, as he claimed at the time.<\/p>\n After Jace\u2019s birth and the couple\u2019s split, Andrew has only seen their son on rare occasions, which Jenelle mentioned in her book as well.<\/p>\n \u201cHe never comes to see his son though he still calls and says he wants to,\u201d she wrote in her memoir. \u201cIt just never happens \u2026 He signed away his custody and I don\u2019t know if he will ever be in his son\u2019s life again.\u201d<\/p>\n Andrew later tried to return to Jace\u2019s life. He was mentioned in a Teen Mom 2<\/em> episode, which aired in January 2019, for texting an executive producer, asking if he could meet with Jace and Jenelle in New York City. And in December 2020, rumors spread that Jenelle had been hooking up with her ex, which she vehemently denied in a since-deleted tweet.<\/p>\n \u201cShe\u2019s been rumored to be hooking up with Jace\u2019s dad,\u201d a fan wrote via Twitter that month, to which Jenelle responded, \u201cLmfaoooo uhm [sic] \u2026 no one has talked to Andrew in years. Nice try.\u201d<\/p>\n One year later, Jenelle seemingly dissed her ex in a TikTok<\/a> video lip syncing to Queen Key\u2019s track \u201cTake Yo Man.\u201d She then agreed with a fan\u2019s comment under the clip that called him the \u201cweirdest\u201d out of all her other exes.<\/p>\n \u201cHe probably is though, no lie,\u201d Jenelle wrote.<\/p>\n Once Andrew fell off the radar of the\u00a0Teen Mom<\/em>\u00a0franchise, he kept his personal life to himself. However, it was revealed that he was living in New York City, calling it the \u201cgreatest city in the world,\u201d in\u00a0a 2017\u00a0Teen Mom 2<\/em>\u00a0special titled, \u201cJenelle Evans: The Ex Files.\u201d<\/p>\n Although most of the\u00a0Teen Mom<\/em>\u00a0dads and former stars have verified social media accounts, it doesn\u2019t appear that Andrew has a public Instagram or Twitter for fans to keep up with.<\/p>\n Jace was reported missing in three runaway attempts in 2023. The first incident occurred on August 15 when Jace went missing after he left school. He was found a few hours later. Jenelle denied claims that the incident had to do with drama between her and husband David Eason<\/strong>, instead chalking it up to Jace rebelling after they took his phone away for getting in trouble at school.<\/p>\n Two weeks later, on August 28, Jenelle contacted authorities because she hadn\u2019t heard from Jace in several hours. He was then found at a gas station near their home. In an exclusive statement to In Touch, Jenelle\u2019s manager, August Keen, said Jace had gone exploring. \u201cJace is a teenager finding his independence, wanting a bit more freedom, and Jenelle is a momma bear,\u201d August added.<\/p>\n After Jace\u2019s second runaway incident, Andrew reached out to his son in a video obtained by The Sun<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cJace, you\u2019re 14 years old, and I heard that you ran away twice,\u201d he said. \u201cWe need to talk.\u201d<\/p>\n Andrew went on to say that he spoke to Jenelle and her mother, and they both said he would be able to talk to Jace when he became a teenager. However, he said that Jace hasn\u2019t made himself available to talk.<\/p>\n \u201cSo I\u2019m just letting you know since the only way I can reach out to you is the media. Want to talk, want to see me, want to Zoom, whatever you want. I\u2019m right here, and always will be,\u201d Andrew concluded.<\/p>\n Jace was then reported missing a third time on September 28 after police came to Jenelle\u2019s house. She told them that her son had snuck out of a window and left his phone behind. Two days later, she told fans in a video that he had been located. \u201cI just want privacy for me and my family right now,\u201d Jenelle said. \u201cHe\u2019s safe but that\u2019s not the point of this video.
