Stevie Nicks<\/a><\/strong> is getting the Barbie<\/a><\/strong> treatment. The Fleetwood Mac<\/a><\/strong> rocker revealed Mattel\u2019s latest design during her Madison Square Garden concert in New York on Sunday (Oct. 01, 2023), where she debuted a Nicks-inspired Barbie to thousands of adoring fans.<\/p>\n

\u201cI hope that you all love her as much as I do,\u201d the glowing \u201cLandslide\u201d singer told fans in a video from the concert posted by Live Nation.<\/p>\n

\u201cStevie Barbie,\u201d as the singer called her, was a perfect encapsulation of the two-time Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee and her bewitching style, modeling a spooky-chic black batwing dress that looked just like Nicks\u2019 ensemble on the cover of the 1977 album Rumours<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The doll, which is part of Mattel\u2019s Barbie Music Series, rocked Nicks\u2019 signature platform boots and a golden crescent moon necklace while toting a tambourine tied with red, black and purple ribbons.<\/p>\n

Nicks described her Barbie as \u201cso pretty and so soulful and so real\u201d in a statement on X, formerly Twitter, on Monday, telling fans she was overwhelmed when Mattel first approached her.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I look at her, I see my 27 year old self~ All the memories of walking out on a big stage in that black outfit and those gorgeous boots come rushing back~ and then I see myself now in her face,\u201d Nicks continued. \u201cWhat we have been through since 1975~ the battles we have fought, the lessons we have learned~ together. I am her and she is me. She absolutely has my heart.\u201d<\/p>\n

Preorders of the doll were priced at $55, and stock appeared to be completely sold out as of early Monday afternoon.<\/p>\n

Nicks was asked about the possibility of Fleetwood Mac touring again in an interview with Vulture<\/a>, and explained why the band couldn\u2019t \u201cgo any further with this\u201d after getting together in 2018 and 2019 for a 50th anniversary tour with Neil Finn<\/strong> and Mike Campbell<\/strong> standing in for Lindsey Buckingham<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen Christine [McVie]<\/strong> died, I felt like you can\u2019t replace her,\u201d Nicks said. \u201cWithout her, what is it? You know what I mean? She was like my soul mate, my musical soul mate, and my best friend that I spent more time with than any of my other best friends outside of Fleetwood Mac. Christine was my best friend.\u201d<\/p>\n

Once again mentioning how Taylor Swift\u2019s \u201cYou\u2019re on Your Own, Kid\u201d has helped her grieve McVie, Nicks recalled how she and McVie were \u201con our own\u201d in Fleetwood Mac. \u201cWe protected each other,\u201d she said. \u201cWho am I going to look over to on the right and have them not be there behind that Hammond organ? When she died, I figured we really can\u2019t go any further with this. There\u2019s no reason to.\u201d<\/p>\n

As Nicks explained, the band\u2019s set would also have to change drastically. \u201cAnd her songs, you take out all of those songs,\u201d she said. \u201cChristine was the pop star. She wrote all those really super pop hits. None of the rest of us could write those songs. What would happen is we\u2019d have to take the songs out, like we did when she actually retired for 18 years. We couldn\u2019t re-create those songs. So we became a much more hard-rock band.\u201d<\/p>\n

McVie passed away on November 30th, 2022 from a stroke. Nicks paid tribute to her on that day with a handwritten note quoting Haim\u2019s \u201cHallelujah.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nicks recently extended her solo headlining tour through March 2024.<\/p>\n
