Calling all Swifties! Taylor Swift<\/strong><\/a> had \u201cSO much to tell\u201d her fans as she announced a collab with rapper Ice Spice<\/strong><\/a> just one month after former fling Matty Healy<\/strong><\/a> apologized for making insensitive comments about the \u201cIn Ha Mood\u201d artist. Now, Ice Spice has publicly reacted to Matty\u2019s comments and revealed where they stand today. During a January 2023 interview with <\/span>Elle Magazine, <\/span><\/i>Ice Spice (real name Isis Naija Gaston) opened up about her taste in music, telling the outlet that she\u2019s \u201cobsessed\u201d with The 1975<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Later that month, during an appearance on \u201cThe Adam Friedland Show\u201d<\/a>, Matty sat down with hosts Adam Friedland<\/strong> and Nick Mullen<\/strong>, where the trio proceeded to make derogatory comments about the rapper\u2019s appearance.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThis chubby Chinese lady. \u2018Yeah, I rap and [make] music.\u2019 Do they talk like that? Do Inuits talk like that?\u201d Friedland and Mullen joked, before referring to the \u201cBikini Bottom\u201d rapper as an \u201cInuit Spice Girl.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Healy responded, \u201cYeah, that\u2019s what Ice Spice is like.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n The podcast episode was later pulled from Apple Music and Spotify.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n In April, the 1975 frontman publicly apologized for his cruel comments, telling the crowd at his Auckland, New Zealand, show that he \u201cjust [felt] a bit bad.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m kind of a bit sorry if I\u2019ve offended you,\u201d he continued. \u201cIce Spice, I\u2019m sorry. It\u2019s not because I\u2019m annoyed that me joking got misconstrued. It\u2019s because I don\u2019t want Ice Spice to think I\u2019m a d\u2013k. I love you, Ice Spice. I\u2019m so sorry.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n He went on to say that he\u2019s \u201cbeen a bit irresponsible,\u201d telling the audience that he doesn\u2019t \u201cunderstand how famous [he is].\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThe truth is, I see a sign that says like, \u2018Matty, I hope you\u2019re okay.\u2019 I feel a bit bad, to be honest,\u201d he added. \u201cI don\u2019t like being famous. But reality is reality. And I think that I\u2019ve said some things or kind of, I make a joke out of everything. That\u2019s my thing. And I can take it too far sometimes in front of too many people. And I feel a bit embarrassed. So that\u2019s the truth.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Ice Spice didn\u2019t initially respond to Matty\u2019s apologies. However, she opened up about the drama in a September 2023 Variety<\/em><\/a> cover story<\/p>\n \u201cWhen I had heard that little podcast or whatever, I was so confused. Because I heard \u2018Chubby Chinese lady\u2019 or some shit like that, and I\u2019m like, \u2018Huh? What does that even mean?\u2019 First of all, I\u2019m thick. What do you mean Chinese? What?\u201d she reflected. \u201cBut then they apologized or whatever. And the whole time, I didn\u2019t really care. But that\u2019s funny because I saw him at the Jean Paul Gaultier party a couple days ago, and he was like, \u2018Hey, you OK?\u2019 and I\u2019m like, \u2018Of course.\u2019 He apologized to me a bunch of times.
