The 58-year-old supermodel was shocked to be diagnosed with the disease in her pectoral muscle in July 2022, four years after she had a double mastectomy, and when she told the ‘Eternals’ actress – who is married to Francois-Henri Pinault, the father of Linda’s 17-year-old son Augustin – she didn’t feel up to celebrating the holidays because she was “half dead” from chemotherapy, the 57-year-old beauty didn’t hesitate to jump on a plane and cook for her friend.<\/p>\n
Linda told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: \u201cSalma called and I said, \u2018We\u2019re not doing Thanksgiving this year\u2019. I was half dead. I couldn\u2019t. There\u2019s no way I could do it. And she said, \u2018Yes, you are. I\u2019ll be there\u2019.<\/p>\n
\u201cI said, \u2018Please, please don\u2019t. Please don\u2019t\u2019. And she said, \u2018No, no, no, it\u2019s important\u2019 \u2014 and poof, she was there. <\/p>\n
“She cooked. I said, \u2018I want your Mexican chicken\u2019 and she put on a whole shindig all by herself. I don\u2019t know how she navigated my kitchen so quickly. She did a great job.”<\/p>\n
\nLinda – who privately battled lung issues throughout her career – was first diagnosed with breast cancer following a routine mammogram and she initially thought she was “set for life” by having the double mastectomy.<\/p>\n
\nShe said: “I had a lumpectomy but after it was biopsied the margins weren\u2019t good.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cBecause of my lung issues and radiation, I said, \u2018I\u2019m gonna be so radical\u2019.<\/p>\n
\n“Because I did not want breast cancer to kill me, and I thought I was taking care of it.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cI was happy with my decision and I thought I was set for life. I wasn\u2019t going to die of breast cancer.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nBut last year, Linda found another lump when she received a call to say Augustin had gone missing during a school trip and she tried to ease her heart palpitations by rubbing her chest.<\/p>\n
\nShe recalled: \u201cI was having heart palpitations and I\u2019m rubbing my chest saying, \u2018Calm down, calm down\u2019.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cThat is when I felt the lump. It was a bump, and I was not sure so I am pressing on it.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cI\u2019m like, \u2018Is this where my rib was removed?\u2019. I had a rib removed for one of my many, many, many lung surgeries.”<\/p>\n
\nAfter further tests, Linda was told she had cancer again.<\/p>\n
\nShe added: \u201cThey said, \u2018You have cancer again. And it is cancer of the muscle\u2019. I\u2019d never heard of that.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nLooking ahead to the future, the Canadian star has just one ambition.<\/p>\n
\nShe said: \u201cI hope I get really old.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
