After two weeks of wheeling and dealing by super-agency CAA<\/a>, the theatrical dead zone after Thanksgiving might be a lot more exciting this year. The company was apparently shopping a documentary feature about Beyonce\u2019s<\/strong> current tour to streamers and studios last month, with AMC Theatres\u2014yes, the same chain that scored Taylor Swift\u2019s<\/strong> The Eras Tour<\/em> feature<\/a>\u2014coming out on top. If all goes as planned, we\u2019ll be watching Beyonce on the big screen by Dec. 1.<\/p>\n It\u2019s worth noting here that neither AMC nor CAA have confirmed this plan, which Variety first reported<\/a>. But according to the trade publication, the film\u2014which is called Beyonce Renaissance World Tour<\/em>, per Deadline<\/a>\u2014has been years in the making, and will include \u201celements of\u201d her current live shows, as well as \u201cparts of the long-gestating visual album Renaissance<\/em> and a documentary-style account of making the record and building out the tour.\u201d<\/p>\n But though it\u2019s been in the works for a while, crews were reportedly still shooting footage as of last week, when the tour stopped in Beyonce\u2019s hometown<\/a> of Houston, Texas. According to Deadline, film crews were at work in NRG Stadium for the shows on Sept. 23 and 24.\u00a0<\/p>\n The visual album portion of the film was initially presented to studios and streamers earlier this year, Above the Line reported in August<\/a>. As with so many things Beyonce, it\u2019s also been shrouded in secrecy; British photographer and artist Nadia Lee Cohen<\/strong><\/a> reportedly directed the videos, which an unnamed source termed \u201clike an art film.\u201d Though execs got a look at the work several months ago, they reportedly declined at the time. But that was before Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour<\/em> was announced.<\/p>\n Though Swift\u2019s concert film isn\u2019t in theaters until Oct. 13, it\u2019s already broken advance ticket<\/a> sales records. It also prompted at least five films<\/a> to move their release dates over fears that they\u2019d be lost in the shuffle.\u00a0<\/p>\n Did the audience interest and steam-rolling power of Swift\u2019s film make Beyonce\u2019s project more appealing to studios? That\u2019s as unknown as every other detail of this still-unconfirmed film and deal. But with fans so eager for a Beyonce film, news that AMC Theatres\u2019 CEO Adam Aron started following her on Instagram was embraced as a sign<\/a>\u2014hopefully, those reports are true for the sake of the company\u2019s safety. For though Nicole Kidman famously said<\/a> that \u201cheartbreak feels good\u201d at an AMC, neither she nor they have ever faced the force of a heartbroken Beyhive.
