Gisele Bundchen<\/a><\/strong> has admitted that she struggled with her mental health at the height of her modeling career and even contemplated taking her own life.<\/p>\n The Brazilian supermodel, 43, opened up about having suicidal thoughts and feeling panicked during the height of her career on CBS\u2019 Sunday Morning<\/a><\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n \u201cI was in tunnels; I couldn\u2019t breathe. And then, I started being in studios, and I felt, like, suffocated,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n B\u00fcndchen recalled one particular moment of difficulty. \u201cI lived on the ninth floor, and I had to go up the stairs because I was afraid I would be stuck on the elevator, and I\u2019d be hyperventilating. \u2026 Because you know, when you can\u2019t breathe even when the windows are open, you feel like, \u2018I don\u2019t want to live like this,\u2019 \u201d the model said.<\/p>\n When CBS host Lee Cowan asked if B\u00fcndchen ever thought about jumping from her floor, she said, \u201cYeah. For a second, because you\u2019re like, \u2018I can\u2019t (do this)!’\u201d<\/p>\n To cope with the pressure during her earlier career, B\u00fcndchen said she started to view herself as \u201cher,\u201d the persona modeling agencies hired, and \u201cGisele,\u201d her real personality.<\/p>\n \u201cThey weren\u2019t hiring Gisele; they didn\u2019t even know me,\u201d she said. \u201cThey just liked the way I looked and they liked the way my body looked in clothes. \u2026 And now, I get to be me.\u201d<\/p>\n Alcohol, cigarettes and caffeine contributed to her stress at the time, things she eventually reduced or quit.<\/p>\n B\u00fcndchen added: \u201cI just think now I\u2019m allowing myself to come out as Gisele versus as \u2018her. I don\u2019t have to play a character. I can be me.
