Dances from another decade! The Dancing With the Stars<\/em><\/a> contestants performed to music from the 1990s during the Monday, November 7, double elimination episode.<\/p>\n After all the couples had a chance to perform, Heidi D\u2019Amelio<\/strong> <\/a>and Artem Chigvintsev<\/strong><\/a> had the lowest score of the night and they were eliminated. The judges then had a chance to save either Trevor Donovan<\/strong><\/a> and Emma Slater<\/strong><\/a> or Vinny Guadagnino<\/strong><\/a> and Koko Iwasaki<\/strong><\/a>. They unanimously voted to keep Donovan, 44, and Slater, 33, and Guadagnino, 34, and Iwasaki, 25, were sent home. The remaining six couples will advance to the semi-finals round.<\/p>\n In addition to the main competition, each duo also had a chance to earn bonus points from the judges during the relay dance battle round. The four winning couples were Shangela<\/strong> <\/a>and Gleb Savchenko<\/strong><\/a>, Donovan and Slater, Wayne Brady<\/strong><\/a> and Witney Carson<\/strong><\/a> and Charli D\u2019Amelio<\/strong><\/a> and Mark Ballas<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n Donovan and Slater kicked off the evening, adopting the rigid movements of dolls for their rendition of \u201cBarbie Girl\u201d by Aqua. Derek Hough<\/strong><\/a> called the performance \u201cperfectly plastic in the best possible way,\u201d adding that he felt like he\u2019d gotten \u201ca preview of Ryan Gosling<\/strong><\/a> and Margot Robbie<\/strong><\/a>\u201d in their forthcoming film, Barbie<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n Although the couple didn\u2019t match their near-perfect score from last week, the judges were still impressed. \u201cYou really have grown as a performer<\/a> like there is no tomorrow,\u201d Len Goodman<\/strong> <\/a>told the 90210<\/em> alum<\/a>.<\/p>\n For Brady, revisiting the \u201890s was a return to his glory days on the improv comedy show Whose Line Is It Anyway?<\/em> \u201cThat [show] changed the orbit of my life forever. The \u201890s, I call that my come-up. That\u2019s when I became a man,\u201d Brady, 50, told Carson, 29,\u00a0during rehearsal.<\/p>\n The comedian\u2019s enthusiasm for the era showed through in his dancing and he earned praise from the judges. \u201cThat was your best dance so far. You were so relaxed and you were so on it,\u201d Carrie Ann Inaba<\/strong><\/a> told the Let\u2019s Make a Deal<\/em> host of his Salsa to \u201cMotownphilly\u201d by Boyz II Men. \u201c\u201890s night, this is your night.\u201d<\/p>\n Other contestants were just kids during the decade in question. Daniel Durant<\/strong><\/a> opened up to his partner, Britt Stewart<\/strong><\/a>, about his childhood and being adopted<\/a> when he was 18 months old. \u201cI was raised in Minnesota with my wonderful, beautiful two moms. People told me that my mom was deaf and that, it\u2019s unfortunate, but she started doing drugs,\u201d Durant, 32, told Stewart, 33.<\/p>\n The Coda<\/em> actor explained that although he later reconnected with his birth mother<\/a>, she lost her life to cancer. \u201cTo this day, I still feel regret. I feel stupid, I wish I had saw her more so I could save her or do something. But at the same time, I accept it,\u201d the Colorado native shared, adding that it was \u201cdifficult and emotional for me to share this story.\u201d<\/p>\n Another poignant moment in the episode came when Tyra Banks<\/strong><\/a> paid tribute to Aaron Carter<\/a>, who competed on season 9 of DWTS<\/em> in 2009.
