Alyssa Snider<\/strong><\/a> sparked a sweet showmance with Tyler Crispen<\/strong><\/a> during her time on The Challenge: USA<\/em><\/a>, but in the real world, the duo decided they were better as friends. .<\/p>\n

\u201cLeaving The Challenge<\/em>, I definitely wanted to pursue [a relationship]. I think I\u2019m just a hopeless romantic though, so, I was like, \u2018Alright, let\u2019s get married, let\u2019s have kids, let\u2019s go into it.\u2019 And [Tyler was] like, \u2018No, we have to think this through,\u2019\u201d Alyssa, 25, exclusively told Us Weekly<\/em> on Friday, September 22, one day after her elimination from season 2 of the reality series.<\/p>\n

Alyssa explained that both she and Tyler, 28, are still processing their breakups from their last showmance partners. (Tyler and Angela Rummans<\/strong><\/a>, who started dating after they met on Big Brother 20<\/em> in 2018, called off their engagemen<\/a>t in 2022, while Alyssa and Kyle Capener<\/strong><\/a>, who continued dating after meeting on Big Brother 24<\/em> in 2022, split in January<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

\u201cWe were still healing and [as] the saying [goes], \u2018Hurt people, hurt people,\u2019\u201d Alyssa explained. \u201c[Tyler was] like, \u2018I don\u2019t want that to happen to us. I care about you too much.\u2019 So, we decided pretty early on [after] getting out of the show: Let\u2019s take time, let\u2019s be friends, let\u2019s heal and we can see what happens in the future.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tWhile The Real World\/Road Rules Challenge began as just that \u2013 a competition between two rivaling TV shows, it developed into so much more over the years, and one of the most memorable components is the romances. For some \u2013 true love have formed, while others \u2026 things have gotten pretty messy. For Cara Maria [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Although the pair aren\u2019t currently pursuing a romantic connection, Alyssa said that Tyler has \u201cbeen a rock\u201d for her as The Challenge: USA<\/em> airs. \u201cHe\u2019s amazing and I would never have a bad thing to say about him,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

In addition to making out<\/a> during an August episode of the CBS reality series, Tyler and Alyssa had each others\u2019 backs in the game, which Alyssa said was a welcome change after her Big Brother<\/em><\/a> showmance, Kyle, 30, plotted against her.<\/p>\n

\u201cI recently watched my season of Big Brother<\/em><\/a> and it\u2019s just kind of hard to stomach that someone that I cared about and loved, who I thought I was working with, was actually working against me in the earlier weeks of the show,\u201d she told Us<\/em>, noting that the experience left her \u201creally scared\u201d that she couldn\u2019t trust Tyler at first. \u201cBut [Tyler] makes it really easy to just open up to [him]. \u2026 Just having somebody look out for me, it\u2019s, like, \u2018Wow, this is how it feels.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tIt\u2019s tough to win Big Brother without some sort of alliance \u2014 but it\u2019s even more difficult if you\u2019re one half of a showmance. However, that doesn\u2019t stop competitors, time and time again, from pairing up while in the house. \u201cThe secret no one knows about Big Brother \u2014 I think it\u2019s really a marriage [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

As for where Alyssa stands with Kyle \u2014 who sparked controversy<\/a> during his time on Big Brother<\/em> by seemingly suggesting that the white contestants stick together \u2014 the exes are not currently in touch.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s a lot with me and Kyle that I think will only ever be known between me and Kyle. To the public, we are not friends. We tried many times and it just didn\u2019t work,\u201d Alyssa told Us<\/em>, noting that the on-again, off-again<\/a> nature of their Big Brother<\/em> showmance continued into the real world. \u201cIt was a lot on my heart and I think as of now, it\u2019s best to not be in each others\u2019 lives because I\u2019m working towards healing and that was bringing me [in] the other direction.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Alyssa didn\u2019t find lasting love on The Challenge: USA<\/em>, she\u2019s proud of her performance on the show. After being underestimated by many of her competitors, she put up a good fight during Thursday\u2019s Elimination, which she narrowly lost to Cassidy Clark<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n
