Michael Allio<\/strong><\/a> wants to clarify details about his split from Danielle Maltby<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0\u2014 including her claim he broke up with her one day after her egg retrieval procedure.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cBefore [Danielle] moved up I told her I wanted to be extremely clear about where I was at and I told her that I am no place and can\u2019t even fathom a place in the future where I can have kids. I\u2019m so focused on raising my son [James],\u201d\u00a0<\/span>Allio, 39, said via his Instagram Story on Friday, September 22. \u201cI said, \u2018Sadly you have to move up here and go through this relationship knowing you will maybe never have kids with me. And I felt really bad saying that because I know she always wanted them. But I had to be honest about where I was at. \u2026 The idea of welcoming another child, for me, I can\u2019t even do it. It doesn\u2019t fit my lifestyle.\u201d<\/p>\n

Allio \u2014 who shared his 6-year-old son James with his late wife, Laura \u2014 explained during the Instagram Q&A that Maltby, 37, handled the news \u201creally gracefully\u201d before ultimately deciding to relocate. Allio claimed that when it came to \u201cthe whole egg freezing thing, she didn\u2019t do it for me,\u201d adding that Maltby probably hoped as they were dating the eggs would be \u201cused for a child that we conceived together, but it didn\u2019t happen that way.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Allio first confirmed the twosome had called it quits<\/a> on Monday, September 18, during an appearance on Jason Tartick\u2019s<\/strong><\/a> \u201cTrading Secrets<\/a>\u201d podcast, saying the breakup was \u201cno fault\u201d of Maltby\u2019s and the pair were \u201cworking through some things and trying to stay close.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tMichael Allio and Danielle Maltby have both weathered tragedy, getting a second chance at love during season 8 of Bachelor in Paradise. Allio made his Bachelor Nation debut during Katie Thurston\u2018s season of The Bachelorette in 2021, but he ultimately self-eliminated because he didn\u2019t want to leave his son, James, alone at home. Maltby, for her part, broke her silence about the split on the Friday episode of her \u201cThe WoMed<\/a>\u201d podcast, telling listeners Allio broke up with her the day after she underwent a process to retrieve her eggs.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was very, very blindsided by it,\u201d she claimed. \u201cObviously [I\u2019m] still very emotional and hurt and confused. I still don\u2019t really have any answers. I\u2019m in it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Maltby went on to explain that having to \u201ccome down off of the hormones while being in complete shock\u201d<\/a> was tough to handle. \u201c[I was in] complete physical shock. I was completely blindsided,\u201d she said.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Allio, meanwhile, stated on Friday that he wanted to \u201cclear things up\u201d via his social media due to a \u201cnarrative going around<\/a>\u201d that was part \u201ctrue\u201d and part \u201cfalse.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not stranger to critique. I know that I\u2019m incredibly flawed and I know that Danielle is a very good person but I do need to clear things up. Because certain things are a little bit off,\u201d he alleged, noting that his intention isn\u2019t about \u201cwinning an argument\u201d but because \u201cthere is just truth out there and I\u2019m happy to assist.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tWhile many celeb couples have gone the distance in Hollywood, other romances haven\u2019t stood the test of time. Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott sparked an on-again, off-again relationship in 2017, welcoming two children: daughter Stormi and a son, whose name they have yet to reveal, in February 2018 and February 2022, respectively. In regards to whether Maltby knew Allio was going to share the breakup news via Tartick\u2019s podcast, Allio confessed he hadn\u2019t given her a heads-up about the plan. He said while he initially wanted to do a \u201cjoint breakup\u201d announcement, she was against the idea because \u201cthis breakup was not mutual<\/a>.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cShe told me, \u2018Go out there, say what you want to say do what you want to do I\u2019ll follow suit and also let\u2019s not call each other and talk to each other anymore because that makes healing that much more difficult,\u2019\u201d he recalled her saying. \u201cAnd sometimes you do need that separation. So when she started taking down photos of us on Instagram I took that as she\u2019s ready to announce this and get this going.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Allio and Maltby met on season 8 of Bachelor in Paradise<\/em><\/a> in summer 2022 and\u00a0quickly connected as they had both previously lost their partners. Allio\u2019s late wife, Laura, died in 2019 from cancer while Maltby\u2019s fianc\u00e9, Nick, died in 2011 following a drug overdose. The duo agreed that they wanted to pursue their relationship outside of the show during the season 8 finale and\u00a0<\/span>Allio told Malby he loved her during the BiP reunion shortly after.<\/p>\n

Maltby later uprooted her life to join Allio in Akron, Ohio. During her podcast episode on Friday, Maltby said Allio was \u201cthe first person that ever made me feel safe in a relationship, that made me feel like I was enough.\u201d<\/p>\n
