Angelica Ross<\/strong> says she\u2019s leaving Hollywood\u2014but before that, she\u2019s spilling the tea.<\/p>\n This week, Ross made waves on social media after claiming that Ryan Murphy<\/strong> pitched a Black-woman-led season of American Horror Story<\/em> to her, then ghosted her<\/a> after she suggested ways to get the project moving. She has also accused<\/a> Emma Roberts<\/strong> of transphobia on the set of American Horror Story: 1984.<\/em> Ross later said in a series of tweets that Roberts called her to apologize<\/a>.<\/p>\n In an interview, Ross says that she had \u201cno problems whatsoever\u201d with Murphy during her time working with him. However, she did recall an incident where the two exchanged a heated phone call after Ross took issue with a crew member on AHS<\/em> wearing inappropriate and racist T-shirts to set. Ross says that after she flagged the issue to Ryan Murphy Productions, cryptically tweeted about it, and refused to leave her trailer until it was handled, Murphy called her on the phone and began \u201ccussing me out.\u201d Eventually, Ross says, Murphy apologized. \u201cAngelica, I want to be your number one champion,\u201d she recalls him saying. \u201cI see the work that you’re doing out there and I want to be a support and I want to know and learn.\u201d<\/p>\n As for her issues with Roberts, Ross says of the incident, \u201cI was calling out the fact that she looked rested. She was supposed to have been aged 20 years or whatever, and I was heavily aged\u2026but she wanted to look better,\u201d Ross recalls. \u201c\u200b\u200bSo she walks into the room and I\u2019m like, \u2018Oh, you look rested.\u2019 And she goes, \u2018John, Angelica\u2019s being mean.\u2019 And he goes, \u2018Okay, ladies, we\u2019re going to get back to work.\u2019 And she\u2019s like, \u2018Don\u2019t you mean lady<\/em>?\u2019 Dead ass at me, and then turns around.\u2026 She was trying to spar with me and couldn\u2019t cover her mouth fast enough\u2026she kind of almost tried to stop herself from saying it.\u201d<\/p>\n Ross says that she sought support from her castmates, to no avail. \u201cThe tone was that she\u2019s the almighty powerful one and you can\u2019t really say nothing when it comes to Emma, so just keep it to yourself,\u201d Ross says. And while Ross appreciated Roberts\u2019s phone call apology, she also had to intervene at points in the conversation, like when Roberts tried to explain her intent behind the jokes. \u201cI cut her off,\u201d Ross tells me. \u201cShe tried to spin the narrative and I was like, No, no, no.<\/em> I said, \u2018Emma, if we\u2019re going to talk on this phone, I\u2019m going to be real with you, you\u2019re going to be real with me. Let\u2019s not do that.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n Ross shares her unfiltered thoughts on Murphy and Roberts, her plans to \u201cleave Hollywood,\u201d and her experience as a Black trans woman working on American Horror Story.<\/em> \u201cWhat I know about whiteness is, it\u2019s fragile as fuck,\u201d she says. \u201cThere are books on it; White Fragility<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n This interview has been edited and condensed for clarity.<\/em><\/p>\n
