The Bling Ring \u2014 consisting of Rachel Lee<\/strong>, Nick Prugo<\/strong>, Alexis Neiers<\/strong><\/a>, Courtney Ames<\/strong> and Diana Tamayo<\/strong> \u2014 became infamous for stealing roughly $3 million in cash and belongings from Lindsay Lohan<\/strong><\/a>, Paris Hilton<\/strong><\/a>, Orlando Bloom<\/strong><\/a>, Audrina Patridge<\/strong><\/a> and many more from 2008 to 2009.<\/p>\n

The teens and 20-somethings became household names themselves following their 2010 arrests, with their infamous antics becoming the focus of two movies (one directed by Sofia Coppola<\/strong><\/a> and starring Emma Watson<\/strong><\/a>) and a book by New York Times<\/em> bestselling author Nancy Jo Sales<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Even though Neiers and Prugo were willing to tell their side of the story for Netflix\u2019s The Real Bling Ring: Hollywood Heist<\/em><\/a>, the Pretty Wild<\/em> alum revealed she never saw the movie based on her infamous past.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m a busy mom of two kids,\u201d she told Entertainment Weekly<\/em> in September 2022. \u201cIf I\u2019m gonna sit down for two hours, it\u2019s not gonna be to watch The Bling Ring. When I was filming this documentary, they had me watch bits and pieces of the movie and asked me my opinion on it. It\u2019s just too easy.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to Neiers, the hit film didn\u2019t properly depict her perspective<\/a>. \u201cThat\u2019s the thing that\u2019s so frustrating when you have someone that\u2019s as brilliant as Sofia Coppola and as wonderful an actor as Emma Watson working on a movie together,\u201d she continued. \u201cYou have this opportunity to do something really great and to dig deeper and to look at the complexities, but it\u2019s just lazy.\u201d<\/p>\n
