Phoebe Dynevor<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s Daphne Bridgerton was the first TV sibling to find love<\/a> on\u00a0Bridgerton<\/i><\/a>, but she may be ready to leave Grosvenor Square<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cSadly not in season 3. Potentially in the future,\u201d the England native, 27, told\u00a0Screen Rant<\/i>\u00a0<\/a>at the Sundance Film Festival<\/a> on Saturday, January 28, when asked about future \u201cexciting dynamics\u201d for Daphne in the new episodes. \u201cBut season 3, I\u2019m just excited to watch as a viewer<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n Neither the\u00a0Fair Play\u00a0<\/i>star<\/a>, Netflix nor production company Shondaland have confirmed Dynevor\u2019s return or exit. However, her appearance at Sundance \u2014 and at various awards shows stateside \u2014 occurred while the show\u2019s cast continues filming season 3 in England. In fact, eagle-eyed social media viewers noticed cast members filming scenes in Bath<\/a> several hours before the\u00a0Younger<\/a>\u00a0<\/i>alum\u2019s film festival appearance in Utah.<\/p>\n Bridgerton<\/i>, which was adapted from Julia Quinn<\/strong>\u2019s eight-book series<\/a>,\u00a0<\/i>first premiered in December 2020<\/a> as a period drama surrounding the eight Bridgerton siblings\u2019 quests for love and marriage<\/a>. Season 1 highlighted the first novel\u2019s love story between eldest daughter Daphne Bridgerton (Dynevor) and Simon Basset, Duke of Hastings (Reg\u00e9-Jean Page<\/strong><\/a>). The second season, which debuted in March 2022, shifted the focus to eldest brother Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey<\/strong><\/a>) and Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley<\/strong><\/a>). Season 3, which is currently in production<\/a>, will tell Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton<\/strong><\/a>) and Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan<\/strong><\/a>)\u2019s love story, deviating from the OG book order. Because we\u2019ve been watching both of these actors on our screens<\/a> since Season 1, we\u2019ve already invested in them a little bit. We know who they are as people,\u201d the\u00a0Derry Girls\u00a0<\/i>alum, 36, told\u00a0Variety\u00a0<\/i>in May 2022<\/a>. \u201cI feel like, especially in the last season, there are these moments of tension between them where it\u2019s like, Colin walks up to the line of almost realizing that Penelope has feelings for him but doesn\u2019t quite get there. Instead of treading water on that dynamic, we wanted to push it into their season. It really felt like the perfect moment to tee it up.\u201d<\/p>\n Dynevor\u2019s potential exit is not the first time one of the\u00a0Bridgerton\u00a0<\/i>leads has left the drama<\/a>. Her TV husband, Page, notably departed ahead of season 2<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s\u00a0a one-season arc. It\u2019s going to have a beginning, middle, end \u2014 give us a year,\u201d the\u00a0For the People\u00a0<\/i>alum<\/a>, 34, previously told\u00a0Variety\u00a0<\/i>in an April 2021 interview<\/a>, recalling an early conversation he had with producers amid the audition process. \u201c[I thought] \u2018That\u2019s interesting,\u2019 because then it felt like a limited series. I get to come in, I get to contribute my bit, and then the Bridgerton family rolls on.\u201d<\/p>\n He added at the time: \u201cOne of the things that is different about this [romance] genre is that the audience knows the arc completes. They come in knowing that, so you can tie people in emotional knots because they have that reassurance that we\u2019re going to come out and we\u2019re going to have the marriage and the baby.\u201d<\/p>\n Upon season 2\u2019s premiere, Simon, as expected, did not appear<\/a>, but Dynevor\u2019s Daphne returned \u2014 alongside the characters\u2019 infant son.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
