Dixie D\u2019Amelio<\/strong><\/a> is sharing insight into her Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD), including the \u201cextreme\u201d symptoms she endures every month.<\/p>\n

\u201cBasically, extreme anxiety, depression, losing the will to live and a lot of irritability and anger,\u201d Dixie, 22, shared during Hulu\u2019s The D\u2019Amelio Show<\/em><\/a>\u2019s two-episode premiere on Wednesday, September 20. \u201cHopefully, the people around me can understand that.\u201d<\/p>\n

In October 2022, Dixie publicly revealed her PMDD diagnosis via an Instagram Live<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI wasn\u2019t feeling great and not really sure why. I recently got diagnosed with this thing called PMDD, which is premenstrual dysphoric disorder,\u201d she said at the time. \u201cIt really affects your moods and your behavior and many different parts of your life.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tOvernight sensations! Charli D\u2019Amelio and Dixie D\u2019Amelio skyrocketed to fame thanks to their popularity on TikTok. Their success led to news that the social media stars and their parents, Marc and Heidi D\u2019Amelio, would star in a reality show for Hulu in 2021. Marc and Heidi tied the knot in May 2000; they welcomed daughters [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

While she\u2019s learning to live with her PMDD, Dixie told\u00a0Us Weekly<\/em> exclusively that it sometimes causes her to get in a \u201cvery dark place\u201d mentally.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s just such a back and forth and it\u2019s never something I think I\u2019ll ever have a complete handle on, but I am getting better at it,\u201d Dixie continued. \u201cBeing able to talk to my parents \u2014 I talked to my dad [Marc D\u2019Amelio<\/strong>] last night \u2026 \u00a0he understands he doesn\u2019t need to fix everything, but I just want him there for me and he can do that and so can my mom [Heidi D\u2019Amelio<\/strong>].\u201d<\/p>\n

Dixie offered more details during The D\u2019Amelio Show<\/em>, explaining that she gets \u201creally bad PMS\u201d ahead of her menstrual cycle.<\/p>\n

\u201cPeople are going to be like, \u2018Oh my god, everyone gets that,\u2019\u201d she shared during a confessional. \u201cNo \u2014 I didn\u2019t know that you weren\u2019t supposed to want to die every month before you got your period.\u201d<\/p>\n

For Dixie, PMDD has impacted \u201cevery single aspect\u201d of her life \u2014 including her relationship with younger sister Charli D\u2019Amelio<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Tensions were high between the two as they continuously bickered<\/a> during the first two episodes of The D\u2019Amelio Show<\/em> season 2.<\/p>\n

Dixie explained that Charli, 19, \u201cwasn\u2019t really around\u201d when she was diagnosed. (Charli was a competitor on Dancing With the Stars<\/em><\/a>\u00a0season 31, which she ultimately won.)<\/p>\n

\u201cI never really explained it to her,\u201d Dixie said. Charli, for her part, agreed.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve done my own research on PMDD to kind of understand, at least, a little bit, but she\u2019s never really explained it to me,\u201d Charli said during her own confessional.<\/p>\n

Dixie, however, got a chance to further discuss the diagnosis and how it impacted her mental health<\/a> on the \u201cGreen Room Talks With Jenna Andrews<\/a>\u201d podcast.<\/p>\n

During season 3, episode 2 of The D\u2019Amelio Show<\/em>, Dixie took a trip to Nashville for a writing camp, but secured the podcast appearance as well.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have talked a little bit about me having PMDD, which I found out I have this year \u2014 the end of last year,\u201d she shared when recording the episode. \u201cI can explain it to the people around me because it definitely affects your relationships with people but at the same time, there\u2019s still not much you can do.\u201d<\/p>\n

Overall, Dixie would \u201clike to advocate for people with PMDD.\u201d However, she noted that it\u2019s difficult for her.<\/p>\n
